How do I share a calendar ? (using Open-Xchange)

Shared calendars are a feature of the Hmail Suite, and are not available in standard email boxes. To convert your email account from a standard mail box to a Suite, navigate to the Email manager screen, choose the mail box you wish to convert and click the small icon that looks like a blue pencil.

Task 1.
Convert standard email box to an Hmail Suite box.
1. Log into the main website account at www.homestead.com and click the Email link on the left hand menu, then click Manage my email account.


2. Click the small radio button shown below, and click Save.



Task 2.
Add users to share the calendar.
1. Log into the email account using the Webmail link at the top of www.homestead.com



2. Click the small calendar icon to display the calendar folders, then click Properties from the drop-down menu.



3. Click the Permissions tab.



4. Click the Save tab.



5. Click Add user.
If this option is grayed out, then the account has not been converted from a standard email box, to a Suite.



6. Choose which user(s) you wish to share the calendar with, click Add, and OK.



7. The next screen will allow you to edit the new users permissions.



Viewing the shared calendar.
After the calendar is shared with the new user, they may log into their email account as described in Task 2, Step 1.

Click the Calendar icon and the shared calendar link will display below the private calendar.

Unable to view other employees calendar.


I use to be able to view my employees calendar so I can add clients to their calendar and now I cant seem to do that. Can you tell me how to do this?

Calendar with majority of appointments from last year are gone.


Hello-
the main calendar we use--transferred with current month's appointments but none of our appointments from 2013 are there. I read that the main calendar we use would transfer over but today when I went to look at past few months history most of the appointments are gone except for a couple. This is bad--someway to retrieve this history?

Can't find my question before on this issue: Where is the feature for sharing a calendar? We had no problem doing this with Zimbra. Is this new calendar capable of being shared with someone else? Thanks!

No distribution lists, calendar missing, can't share calendar, all sorts of errors.


When I converted to the new email program, a shared calendar was only visible to one person and no one else. The creator of the calendar himself no longer has access. I tried creating a new calendar and I can't share it with anyone. And when I "mange my email address", I can no longer see my distribution lists. I'm trying to run a business, what is going on here?????

Hello again--

I followed instructions on this and have lost all calendar appointments again pre 1.13.14 and previous year. I had a couple calendar folders that got deleted at the same time but not sure that matters as they seemed obsolete with the new platform and I had "show all appointments" checked. I was only using the first and main calendar to add appointments. Can you do another remigration so I can get the complete calendar back from earlier this month and last year? I know will loose any new events added. Thanks

Hi Mike-
The re-migration seems to have worked for me. Jeigh, however, cannot access his Open X-Change account at all now. It has him locked out saying to check his username and password. The two emails with our account are jeigh@foundtruenorth.com and lea@foundtruenorth.com. Can you let me know what's happening and when it will be fixed?

Hello- I am unable to switch my mailbox to Suite...I dont have the option to do so . Therefore the Add New button is grayed out and I cant add users calender. Help Please!

Hi Ricardo1970, the Suites are an upgrade $3 per month. Did you have shared calendars in the Zimbra system before your account was converted?

How many do you need? I see you have 5 email addresses? Do they all need to share a calendar?

Hi Mike- Yes we had shared Calendar before the upgrade. I need to see everyone's calendar but they don't need to see each other. So I had a feature. You do an upgrade and now I have to pay extra?

Hello,
We have a business in which we have several calendars shared between staff for apointments with our staff. We had two suite accounts and I cannot switch those suite accounts over to myself and another staff. Also, would I need to puchase new suite accounts for all my staff or is it only for those people who are sharing the calendars with others? We too lost all our appointments. Very frustrating. We have group homes for at risk youth and had ALL of the therapy/counseling/Dr Appointments and lost all of them for 40 kids. email rlucero@powerhouseyouthfacility.com

No, as I explained above the $1 is additional, on top of the $2. You are adding Suites, not regular email accounts.

That was a waste of my time. Was on hold for almost an hour explained my situation and then was hung up on. Can you please take off the suites that you added. I do not want to be charged for those. We will be looking for another web host/email provider for our business. Very frustrated with Homestead.

I don't want to share calendars among my email users. I want to post a calendar on my web site for the public to see scheduled events in the future. Do you have a public calendar function?
