There are many email clients out there that can be configured to check your Homestead mail. Below are some links to some popular clients you can use. They have detailed instructions on how to configure each one, with screenshots. If you have another email client which is not listed below, the settings below will work on nearly all email programs.

For IMAP
Username = Email Address
Password = your email password
Incoming server = imap.homestead.com
Outgoing server = smtp.homestead.com
Incoming port = 993
Outgoing port = 465
Turn the encryption/SSL setting to the On position for both incoming and outgoing

Important
: If you experience problems receiving email, you can change the encryption/SSL setting to the Off position, and change the incoming port  to 143 and change the outgoing port to 587

For POP
Username = Email Address
Password = your email password
Incoming server = pop.homestead.com
Outgoing server = smtp.homestead.com
Incoming port = 995
Outgoing port = 465
Turn the encryption/SSL setting to the On position for both incoming and outgoing

Important: If you experience problems receiving email, you can change the encryption/SSL setting to the Off position, and change the incoming port  to 110 and change the outgoing port to 587

If you aren't sure of the difference between POP and IMAP and why you would use one or the other, please click here. If you have a different client and would like instructions, please ask. We will see if we can accommodate the request.

Important Note: Software changes rapidly. If you see a future version of something we are missing, let us know. We will see if we can get it done. Keep in mind, newer versions often look the same or similar. Our settings are not changing, so you may be able to make it work

It depends on what type of phone you have and if you want POP or IMAP email, but you can find links in this topic to assist. If you have an Android phone, I strongly advise using k9 mail instead of the standard Android app

Thanks for the quick reply. I was actually able to get it going through my phone's regular email app on my samsung phone. It looks like it's working good. Should be totally mobile now.

I am very frustrated with trying to set up my email with any email client. I first tried Outlook 2013 and Outlook.com with now luck. I entered my email (user name) and password. I entered the correct ports and unchecked the correct boxes. I am now trying to set it up with the Inky client and app, so I can have multiple emails in one place. I only have trouble with homestead email. Please help.

Hello,

Unfortunately we wouldn't be able to help with the individual settings of Inky, but the email server settings are above.

All of our mail server information is listed above. SMTP is for outgoing mail, and pop/imap.homestead.com is incoming.

Have you looked at the settings provided above? Also, what is the domain in case there might be something going on with that?

The settings are at the top of this page. We do not have an Outlook 365 tutorial, but the settings are the same for all mail clients. Unfortunately, if the wording has changed in Outlook then you may need to contact Microsoft for assistance with entering our settings.

Henry3043, the stock Android app does not work well with the mail. I would delete the account and follow these instructions step by step to install and configure K-9 mail.

Hi, Homestead, do you provide a POP address so I can retrieve my email without having to login to your website?
I would like to be able to retrieve my email from your website without loging in by using a POP address. I can do this with other email accounts, such as MSN and Netzero. For example, MSN uses POP.live.com as a POP address.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Switching to Outlook but retaining Roundcube email address.

We would like to use Outlook for our email. We are currently using Roundcube, but the functionality of the email and the calendar is not sufficient for our small business. How can we switch to Outlook while retaining our email addresses? Is there a way to route our emails through Outlook? We have to be able to send and receive them. I have Microsoft Office 2013.

The settings are at the top of this page. I am guessing you are trying to set up Windows Live Mail. I have instructions for Windows 7 and they should be very similar. The setting will be the same.

I am using MS Outlook 2007. I was able to receive and send emails for howard@justinbentley.com, but I recently switched from Spectrum to Cox and now I can't send emails but I can receive them.(I am using smtp.justinbentley.com.) Also I have howard@executivediamondteam.com and I can send and receive from that. (There I am using smtp.homestead.com.) I had this problem years ago when I was using Windows 7 (I'm using Windows 10 now) and it was resolved by using an outgoing server different from 25, but I don't remember what it was.

You can remove the email account from your Outlook, or updating your password from Homestead will break the connection.
