Hi,

Here are instructions to setup UPS shipping for your Storefront.

  1. Click Store Manager in the left navigation menu. Then, click Launch Tool button to open the Storefront Administrator.

  2. Click Store in the left-hand navigation menu and click Shipping Prefs from the sub menu.

  3. Click UPS Configure under Available Shippers.

  4. Register with UPS. Review and accept the UPS license agreement and click Apply.

  5. Customize your UPS Configuration.

  • Review your company information and enter any additional information.

  • Make sure the store phone number does not contain any punctuation or parentheses.

  • Account Number: If you have a UPS account number, enter it here.

  • An account number is required for printing shipping labels. If you don't already have an account number and want to print labels, then click the click here link to go to the UPS web site and open an account.

  • Click Apply.

  • The registration process is complete, and the UPS Configuration options appear.

    1. Select your quote basis.

    • Total Order Weight: The shipping rate will be calculated upon the total order weight (as if all items were to be packaged in one container). A weight value must be entered for each product if you are using Total Order Weight. If you want the shipping rate to be calculated as though items are going to be packaged in separate containers, select Packing Algorithm.

    • Packing Algorithm: If you want the algorithm to determine which containers should be used for each order, you must then define shipping containers.Otherwise, the algorithm assumes that each Product has a container of "Self" (one product per container). We recommend that you enter the weight and dimensions for every product to ensure an accurate quote at checkout.

  • Select your customer classification, pickup methods, and delivery method.

  • If you want to include insurance on all packages, click to select the Include Insurance checkbox.

  • If you want your customers to receive e-mail notifications from UPS when packages are shipped, click to select the Email shipment notification checkbox. These notifications are e-mailed when you generate packing labels.

  • Click Apply.

  • Notes:

    • To update your account information (such as changing your Pickup Postal Code or adding/updating your UPS Account Number), you will need to re-register. To do so, click to select the Re-Register checkbox and click Submit.

    • Storefront calculates UPS rates using the following assumptions and rules:

      • The packaging material is supplied by the shipper (such as a Customer Supplied Package).

      • Commercial rates are calculated if the customer supplies a company name. Otherwise, the higher residential rates are applied.

      • Packing Algorithm must be selected as the Quote Basis, and all products must contain weight and dimension values (Length, Width, Height) if you want UPS to determine if a) Dimensional Weight should be used, or b) if the package meets an Oversize 1 (OS1) or Oversize 2 (OS2) condition.

      • Additional service fees are excluded (such as Saturday Delivery, Verbal Confirmation, etc.). You may use the Shipping Mark-Up field or the product Shipping field to apply these fees

    Hope that helps!

I have Simple Store and the Storefront manager and launch tool are not on the navigation pain. Where are they?
