If you would like to know more about the difference between IMAP and POP, then please click here.

1) Go to the Accounts tab and click Email.

2) Enter your email address, password, and the Display name. Check the box for manually configure. Click Next.

3) Select IMAP. Enter the information as shown, using your email address for the Logon user name. Click Next.

4) Click Finish.

5) Go back to the Accounts tab, and click on Properties.

6) Enter inbox in the Root folder path. Make sure the special folders are as shown.
Click OK.

This sets up a NEW account! How do you change an existing account from POP to IMAP?

It is not possible to change an account from POP to IMAP. You would need to add a new account as IMAP. Is there a reason you want to switch?
