Here are the steps to set up your email in Outlook Express.

If you have another version, click the link below for the version of Outlook you have. To find out which version you have, click the Help menu on the Outlook toolbar and click About.

Outlook Express
  1. In your Outlook toolbar, click Tools select Accounts.

  2. In the Accounts window, click the Mail tab.

  3. Click Add and select Mail. (The Outlook Internet Connection Wizard opens.)

  4. In the Display Name field, enter your name as you would like it to appear in outgoing messages. Then, click Next.

  5. Enter your full email address. Then, click Next

  6. From the drop-down menus, select IMAP.

  • In the Incoming Mail Server field, enter mail.homesteadmail.com.

  • In the Outgoing Mail Server field, enter smtp.homesteadmail.com.

  • Click Next.

  • Select Log On Using IMAP Account Name.

    • In the Account Name field, enter your Hmail email address.

    • In the Password field, enter the password for the Hmail account you want to access from Outlook.

  • Click Next.

  • Select the type of Internet connection you have, and then click Finished.

  • After you have successfully added your mail account to Outlook Express, you need to authenticate the server.
    1. In your Outlook toolbar, click Tools and select Accounts.

    2. Click the Mail tab and select the new mail account you just added.

    3. Click Properties and then click the Servers tab.

    4. Under Outgoing Mail Server, check the My Server requires authentication checkbox.

    5. Click Settings and make sure that the Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.

    6. Click OK.

    7. In the Properties window, click Apply and then click OK.

Note: If the instructions above do not work and you are unable to send or receive email through Outlook, set your SMTP port to 587 and try again.

    Hope that helps!
