Here are instructions to add a link to existing text.
How do you want the link to open?
Choose open in the same window or in a new browser window.
Save and Publish your website to see the text link live.
- Click Websites Manager in the left navigation menu. Then, click Edit Site.
- Go to the page with text you'd like to be a link.
- Double-click on the text box that contains the text you want to be a link. Then, highlight the specific text that will be the link.
- On the right, in Text Settings click Link. You may have to scroll down to see the button.
- In the Link window, finalize the link settings.
What do you want to link to?
- Existing Page or File -- Use this if you'd like to link the text to another page within your website.
- URL (Web Address) -- Use this if you'd like to link to another website.
- Email Address -- Use this if you'd like the text to link to an email address.
- Another Area on this page -- Use this if you'd like the text to link to another area on the same page.

Hi Rosie, I merged your question to this topic. This is how you can link text to other pages. One thing I want to mention, is that you might want to clear your cache after you make changes to your website. It could be that your website is hanging on to a previous version where the link wasn't working.

Follow the steps in this thread, except... when you get to step #5, be sure to click the button next to "Email Address" instead of "Existing Page or File".

The steps here should help. When you get to step #5, click the button to link to "a page or file". When you click the Browse button your image files will appear in the same list as your pages, or you can select the file from your computer.

Just to clarify, your account is set up with the SimpleStore which is not the same as the Storefront. But, you can still link to the product pages. The first step is to pull up your live site and go to the store page. After you click on a product you'll be directed to the Product page. At this point, you just copy the URL from the web browser and then create a standard link to that page following the steps in this thread.

There are several ways this could be done depending on how you want to layout the site and have it function. You'll probably want to create the new pages first, then just create standard text links form one page to the next, as shown above.

I think that the publish did work and you are seeing a cached copy of the page. Go to the published site and hit your f5 key.
Follow the instructions above to recreate the hyperlink.

Well you were right sooo right and thank you so!!! The f5 did the trick..now I'm going to try to recreate the hyperlink but just can't thank you enough for your attention, on a Sunday...during a Hawks playoff game no less!! You are the best (unless of course you were hoping the Timberwolves would win!!) LOL All seriousness, your attention to my problem as a newbie was much appreciated! When you are creating the links, (see step #5 above), you will need to click the button next to "In another browser window". This adds the following to the code " target="_blank" and tells the browser to open the link in a new window. If you actually want the new page to open in a new tab rather than a new window, then you'll find that setting in your web browser. if you can't find it let us know which browser you are using.

Agnes5818, It looks like you've just added the URLs as normal text. You will need to actually create links to the pages as the next step. Follow the steps on this thread, and let us know if you run into any problems.

My friend used her computer, and clicking the email link did not bring anything up on her computer. Is there any way to control what the link does once it is selected? Since most of my customers seem to have Yahoo accts and Gmail accounts, this has to be a more widespread problem.
