Here are instructions to add a link to existing text.

  1. Click Websites Manager in the left navigation menu. Then, click Edit Site.

  2. Go to the page with text you'd like to be a link.

  3. Double-click on the text box that contains the text you want to be a link. Then, highlight the specific text that will be the link.

  4. On the right, in Text Settings click Link. You may have to scroll down to see the button.

  5. In the Link window, finalize the link settings.

  6. What do you want to link to?
  • Existing Page or File -- Use this if you'd like to link the text to another page within your website.

  • URL (Web Address) -- Use this if you'd like to link to another website.

  • Email Address -- Use this if you'd like the text to link to an email address.

  • Another Area on this page -- Use this if you'd like the text to link to another area on the same page.

How do you want the link to open?
Choose open in the same window or in a new browser window.

  • Save and Publish your website to see the text link live.

    When linking text, an option is to link to an email address.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Kristina 7861,   You'll find the steps here.  If you want to link an image instead of text, just click on the image instead of highlight the text and you'll see the link option on the right side of the screen.

    Please see the article above. The choice you want to select for this would be 'URL (Web Address)' in the example above.

    Please help: I need to add a few links to other sites. Clicked on "Insert HTML", pasted web address as instructed, but once published, can't click on link. If I right-click and select "open in new window" it will take me to the site just fine. Please help. I don't know anything about codes and such.

    The following is the HTML coding snippet used for my links that I updated our site. You can substitute the URLs and Names of the URLs that you want to make the links using the HTML5 Advanced in the Site Builder for the page you want to change in the body of the page where you need the links.

    <h2>Useful links.</h2>
    <ul><b>
    <li>
    <a href="http://www.fema.org/">Visit FEMA</a>
    </li>
    <li>
    <a href="http://www.seminolecountyfl.gov/dps/">Seminole County DPS</a>
    </li>
    <li>
    <a href="http://www.seminolecountyfl.gov/dps/ems/">EMS Fire Rescue</a>
    </li>
    <li>
    <li>

    </li>

    Thanks for sharing. This code is not simply linking text. This code is used to create an HTML navigation menu instead of a simple text link.

    No problem at all. You can always post your own topic in the HTML snippets category as well, if you have other things people may find useful.

    This is an example of how to add HTML coding to a page with an imbedded link to a text work in the page:

    <h2>There is a link at the bottom of the page! It goes to a particular text</h2>

    <p>In my younger and more vulnerable years my father gave me some advice that I've been turning over in my mind ever since.</p>

    <p><a id="Whenever">"Whenever</a> you feel like criticizing any one," he told me, "just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had."</p>

    <p>He didn't say any more, but we've always been unusually communicative in a reserved way, and I understood that he meant a great deal more than that. Etc...Reserving judgments is a matter of infinite hope</p>
