I have hundreds of products that I would like to add to my Storefront. How do I import multiple products at once to my Storefront so I don't have to do them one by one?

Hi,

Here are instructions to upload multiple products at once to your Storefront. First, you'll export your products to a csv file. Then, you'll import them back to your Storefront.

Export products to a csv file

  1. Click Store Manager in the left navigation menu. Then, click Launch Tool to open the Storefront Administrator.

  2. Click Support from the left navigation menu and select Export Data from the sub menu.

  3. Select Products from the Table to Export drop-down menu. The click the Export button.

  4. Make sure All is selected in the drop-down menu for Category and click the Export button.

This will give you a link to click on to download the product csv file. You need to use this format to add products for importing. We recommend adding one product to your Storefront before exporting so you can get a better understanding of how the product data looks within Excel.

Importing product using a csv file

  1. Login to your website account.

  2. Click Store Manager in the left navigation menu.

  3. Click Launch Tool to open the Storefront Administrator.

  4. Click Support from the left navigation menu. Then, select Import Data from the sub menu.

  5. Select Product from the Import to Table drop-down menu. Then, click Import.

  6. When the products are imported, you'll see a report on how many products were processed.

Hope that helps!

Can you import only the product name or can you assign values to each item in your csv list so that it fills in all the relevant information e.g. price, manufacturer, etc.

I added 300 products and then realized that weight was the best method for me to calculate shipping. All of my products generally weight the same amount. I have spent a few hours now updating each product one by one. (I am SO bored and tired doing this!!)

Can anybody help me with a way to update this field for more than 1 product at a time? Somewaht like they allow you to change prices?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Hi Chris4769,

Using the .csv file would be the easiest way to update multiple products. Using the instructions above will show you how to export your current info - After updating, you can import it back rather than updating individual products.

Hope this helps, thanks!

I had the same problem where it processed my products but did not import them. I followed a not on the Homestead page and added ONE product, exported it, and made sure that I added data to each of the fields that were already filled in the .csv template (excluding the image portion called MediaItem1). When I imported the file this time it worked perfectly!

Glad to hear it. Another tip is to add new products, leave column A blank. If you export your products and change them in the spreadsheet, leave the number in column A alone. It is a unique id that Storefront assigns, if there is a number it will seek to update the product. If there is no number it will seek to add a new product.

I've tried several times to import my data. I exported my file first so my columns would align, I left column A blank, but every time I try to import, nothing happens. I am using a MAC. Would that affect my ability to upload my data? Help! I have hundreds of items to enter.

Using a Mac might make a difference. If your file is a zip file, I understand that Macs put the zip folder inside a sub-folder. Double-check your file to see if this is the case, or try to upload it as a regular file if possible.

My website editor doesn't have a "Store Manager" button. How am I supposed to add all the products without it?

The store manager is a different program than the Website Manager. When you first login to your account, instead of Websites Manager, click on Store Manager.

Thanks
