You can choose to have navigation breadcrumb links displayed for every page that you create under the Web Content section of your control panel by adding the variable for breadcrumbs into your webpage template file.

These instructions are for the free themes provided by Bigcommerce, and the precise implementation may vary by theme. If you are using a premium theme, please contact the designer for assistance.

A webpage with the breadcrumb navigation panel

1. In the Bigcommerce control panel, go to Setup & Tools › Design.

2. Click on Edit HTML/CSS.

The Edit HTMLCSS tab in the Design section

3. In the list of Other Template Files on the left, locate and click page.html.

Pagehtml located in the Other Template Files list

Use Ctrl F or Command F to quickly locate template files in the list.

4. Add %%Panel.PageBreadcrumb%% to the HTML code in the location you want the breadcrumb to appear. The location varies from template to template, so you may want to try a few locations.

The panel added to the HTML code

5. Save your changes. Keep this window up and check your store in another tab on your browser. You can then make any changes and save again.
