Creating your own custom template files is an easy process to do within BigCommerce, though the actual content of the file willl depend solely upon you (or your web designer). For creating custom webpage files, all you need to do is create the file and upload it via WebDAV.
In addition to having completely custom pages, you can also modify the code from, let's say, product.html and then change it around so that certain products look a certain way. To get your products, categories, brands, and web pages to use a different template file for their base code, you can simply place an underscore (_) at the beginning of the filename, and the system will recognize it as a custom template file.

Because of the near infinite possibilities this gives you for customizing the design of your store, the example below is a basic one that is meant to give you a jump-start, not be an exhaustive list of all that you can do with our template file system.

Please note that while we offer this tutorial and it is tested and working at the time of creation, any customization of or support for these types of articles is outside of our scope of support. If you require assistance with any design or customization, we recommend that you contact a Homestead web advisor.
