Here's how you change shipping rates in SimpleStore:P
Added SimpleStore prior to 5/15/12 or using PayPal for checkout
Added SimpleStore after 5/15/12 and using Intuit Web Payment

- Click Ecommerce in the left navigation menu
- Click Set tax and shipping rates
- Click Edit next to Shipping Rate.
- Select Flat Rate or Variable Rate and set the new shipping rate for your store.
- Click Save
Added SimpleStore after 5/15/12 and using Intuit Web Payment
- Click Ecommerce in the left navigation menu
- Click Shipping in the top navigation menu.
- Click Edit next to Shipping Rate.
- Select Flat Rate or Variable Rate and set the new shipping rate for your store.
- Click Submit

this is what i have been doing and when i go on line to check out item regarding ordering is still come up at shipppng $59.95

I am new to simple store as today. I do not see where I can calculate shipping.

Your account is older, so it has an older version of Simplestore. If you edit the product, you will see that you may add a shipping charge. You also have the option of adding it through your Paypal account.
If you want the newest version of Simplestore, then I would ask that you give support a call as there will need to be some changes to your account.

My homestead is 2019 and does not let me adjust based on weight and distance. This does not make sense. As flat rate, 1 size fits all, is not the solution. This cause client complaints and incomplete orders.

I would recommend that you turn on Integrated Shipping under Advanced Features and use the shipping options through Shippo to get the more advanced shipping features you are wanting.

That is a monthly fee program, correct?

There are monthly options, but by default it is a Pay As You Go set up. You can change it to monthly if you want to create shipping labels in bulk.

I would recommend going into the Shippo option and looking at the plans. See if it would work. You can do a 1 month free trial of the plan you choose.
