How do I allow product reviews to only be submitted by my customers?

If you are using the Bigcommerce product reviews feature, you are able to set your store to only accept reviews from past customers (those you have shipped orders to). Those who submit a review and are not a recognised past customer, their review will not be submitted to your store for moderation & publishing. This is a feature you may choose to use to combat excessive spam or misuse of your product reviews.

You can enable this feature by following the steps below:
1.Make sure that you are logged into your control panel admin area.
2.Click on Apps and then Comments.
3.Make sure that you have Enabled Product reviews.
4.Check the box “Only accept product reviews from past customers”.
5.Save your change by clicking the save button.
6.Go to your store, open a product page and open the “Write a review” form, you should now see an “Email” field in the form.

How does a store admin reply to product reviews?

Hi Xnena, Can you clarify exactly what you wish to do? Are you wanting to reply (directly by email), or just respond so that your comments also show up on the site?

The admin screen only allows you to approve, or disapprove. There's not an option to reply.

If you wanted you could of course leave a review in response to another one, and then approve it so that it appears on the site.

How about forcing a name or email to be left with a review? I have the enabling customer requirement active but if they do not leave a name/email how do I know who is leaving the review?

Unfortunately it's not designed to do that. The review feature is not intended to capture customers personal information.
