Official Response
If you've made changes in SiteBuilder and they don't seem to be publishing there can be several reasons, and things too look for.

First check to make sure they really did or did not publish by checking the file manager screen.

Access the File Manager by clicking on your domain name at the top of the SiteBuilder page.

Next, click View File Manager

The far right hand column will display the published status.

If any of your pages are not published, you can click on the name of that file and click the publish button on the top menu and publish the individual files one at a time.

If all of your pages show a green check mark and "OK" status, then you will need to check for broken links, or clear your cookies and cash.

My saved changes will not publish. I have tried to look at file manager, but the only files there are gallery and quick site images. My actual page names are not listed. Please advise.

Hi chuck1241,

Looking at your account, the only page that has been recently published is the page named Home-CarmonEdit.html. That page can be accessed on the internet by going to http://www.flintunclaimedfreight.com/.... Can you go to that page and let me know if those are the edits you are looking for?

Thanks,
Matt

Indy try refreshing the page in the browser or cleaning the cache. Sometimes pages get stored and unless you refresh the browser will bring up the stored version.

This is a problem we have with ours too, try telling all your customers that they have to clear their cache to view the page every time there is a change made.....  this is a big problem that should be fixed

Hi Cecelia0631,

This isn't really a problem.  It is how web browsers function to speed up viewing the web and reduce overall traffic.  In your browser settings there is likely a setting that you can use to tell the browser how often to check for a new page.

Thanks for helping out Susan! Indy, as Susan suggested clearing your cache is the next thing to check. If that doesn't work, and all of your pages are published, then check to see if you have renamed the page and if you have, make sure the links are directing to the new page instead of the old one.

I have updated a page. When I preview it shows the new page, however if I click to another page and then click back it reverts to the old page. I have checked all the settings, and they are fine. What is going on?

If you follow the steps in this thread and can not find the error, then reply with the page name and the link name, and let us know what we should/should not be seeing so we can troubleshoot.

The Site error 404 page is suppose to be there and will not allow you to delete it. If you are seeing that page appear on your live site that means the navigation link to that page is broken.

updates aren't showing.

I am making updates to my site, when I preview, either on the client or from the homestead on-line editor, they look fine, and when I hit publish, they look fine. I have looked at the file in file manager on the client and in file manager using the online editor, they both look the same. When I log off homestead and view the site, the changes are not there. I have cleared cache and temp files. I have done a clean install of the sitebuilder on my computer. The changes are not on the site. Help!

Yes.  If you wish to delete any pages, you can click the "View Page" button. When the dropdown menu appears, you'll see some small "X's" next to each page name. Just click the "X's" to delete the pages.

Adding videos that don't publish....

I added a video to a web page that appears accurately on the preview but does not function on the published page. The publishing process does not complete normally. It stops, freezes with a window requesting me to "close or upgrade". I performed an upgrade. That is not a solution. I close the window and move along to the published page and the video still does not view.

Is the video file showing up in the File Manager screen?  If so, what's the name of the file and I'll check it out for you?  Also, can you look at the file size of the video on the computer and tell us how large it is?

41_11_03_PGT__Scout_R...   It is still listed with the upload ref.  I cannot find the size listed in dropbox.  Could this have something to do with Chrome?  This message is listed under elements:

Good morning themieleman,

There are a couple things I would try.

1) Move the file from Dropbox onto your desktop and then try to upload.

2) Log in to your account at homestead.com and then use the file manager from within your account. Use the import button.

Thanks

First try to remove any new elements that you may have added to the page. Then try publishing again.  If it still freezes, you could try to delete the index.xpf file from the SiteBuilder data folder, then Sitebuilder will re-sync with the copy that is on the server and will fix the problem if the copy on your computer is corrupt.  The best/easiest fix would just be to convert to SiteBuilder Plus, which we can do for you if you wish.
