I'd like to start a second website on my account. How can I do this without interfering with my current site?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Help with Domain.

I have a website with homestead and I wanted to created another one. I got another domain for the other website and they combined both websites together. When I put the new website in the search button my first website comes up....I want the website to be completely different, cause they are both different industries. Can someone help me? Cause I called and they are closed.

Once you create the new site, you can change the domain association. It can take about 30 minutes to reflect the change.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled How Can I test out a different template?.

I would like to try/test out new templates using the Site Builder Plus(old version does not have the "newer templates" apparently), but keep the old(very) site AND keep the same domain name while I do all of this/make a final decision/actually build the new one if i choose to.

Any chance I can do this w/o deleting everything. Scared to go this route without creating a huge mess!

Create a new website and you can create it in your own time. When done, we can move the domain.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Can I work on a new website and keep my old website ?.

For the New Year, I'd like to change my website! I'm curious if I can add a new website and keep my old website up while working on the new one. Thanks!

Yes you can. Create the new site, then the domain can be associated to the new site when you have completed it. Until then the old site remains online.

I've been reading this thread, and like many others, I wish to create a new site while keeping my old one until the new one's ready.
I understand that I have to pay for a new domain before I can do that.  But I don't want to pay for 2 domains, if, in the end I only have one.
How do I get round this?  Do I have to pay for the domain, first, and then cancel it later?

You are not required to pay for a domain, but you would need to add the provision for additional sites. That is $2/month. You might also need to increase your page and space limits, but I would only do that if/when prompted to do so. The sites are the physical pages that make up your site. A domain is simply an address. A domain is not required to build the new site. You can create the new site and when ready, move your existing domain to the new site. Let us know if you would like for us to add the sites to the account.

I ordered another domain and wanted to create a separate website than what I currently have with my other domain. How do I create a different website under one account?

After you have created a new website, you can associate your domain to your website easily. Here is the article on more information on associating your websites.

In that case it means you have the package that only allows 1 site. You can purchase a package of 2 sites for $2.00 month/$24.00 year. Just post back in the morning and Drew will be able to help you with that.
