It will really depend on the method that you use to submit your site to the Search Engines.  If you follow the steps above and submit to Google, or Being the free way, it could take anywhere from a few days to a couple weeks.

i dont buy that answer at all Google uses methods that drop out of ranking redirects and almost every homestead site is a redirect

I Frederick7542, Did you need help? It's not clear who you are responding to. Also, our system isn't even set up to do domain redirects, so that is not possible, unless someone codes in some redirect code into their index page, which we don't recommend as it's poor for SEO results.

What kind of problem are you having?

well i dont see any kind of ranking , a good example would be a site where for shot glasses with Washington dc theme I included Washington's prayer for America, been there for years I have never seen it picked up on a search once,

What is the website/domain name you are referring to. I don't see any domains on your account, which is an indication that you may have a re-direct set up from another company, which we don't recommend.

Also, what page of the site would this product be on?

I completed my design and your message says I successfully published it. But when I type in my web address no search engine can find me. Help! Have I failed to do something or is this one big scam?

This is something every new website/webmaster deals with. Just because you build and publish a site, it does not mean that it is instantly searchable by Google or any other search engine. They literally do not know your site exists until you or someone tell them. Follow the steps on this thread to get your site submitted. Then if you need more help with the optimization there are many threads on this site. Feel free to ask questions.

This thread is a good place to start.  This can be an overwhelming task if you are not familiar with all of the processes. We do offer an SEO service if you are interested in talking with an advisor, just reply here and I can arrange a callback.

This thread discusses some basic SEO strategies, but in reality it can be far more complex. Search engine optimization is usually the most economical way to do this, but can be very time consuming. There are quick easy ways if you want to buy pay-per-click ads, but those frequently cost more than they are worth.

If you want to discuss your options with one of our SEO advisors I can have someone give you a call.

Absolutely. The consultants work Monday-Friday. What is a good day and approximate time for you? Is the phone number listed on your account the best number?

If you don't want to post a phone number here, then I can send you an email to reply to.

Thanks

Thanks for the help, but I have already submitted my website to both Google & Yahoo. I also built a site map and submitted it as well. The problem I am having is getting a refreashed or updated page to be included by Google & Yahoo. I submitted the URL, but I am still not getting the refreash I need.

Also, there are a lot of things that the search engines look for like tags that are difficult to set using homestead. Are there any changes that will be implemented that will help us rate higher in search engines?

Each product has a Search Engine Optimization section on it. The meta description is important, the keywords, not as much, but you can add them. Google ignores the meta keywords in favor of looking at the content that is visible to the store's visitor to find relevant keywords. They believe that this will give the searching party more relevant results.

Does that help?

Website Is Not Coming Up In Searches.

I published my website two days ago. However, no search on google has revealed my practice. I have tried broad searches such as "adoption attorneys Orlando, fl"; and I tried narrow searches including "adoption attorneys Orlando, Fl 32820". I'm on the 11th page of that search; the Coye Law Firm has appeared three times while I have yet to find my practice - Law Office of Rebecca Dixon, PLLC. The only way anyone is going to find my site is if I give the site to them and they type in that specific web address. Why is my site not coming up?

There seems to be a trend here, customers (like me) who have built a site and cannot find it on Google. I have searched for every feasible combination of words regarding my services, and for the life of me cannot find the website anywhere on Google. I am running a Google Ad Words campaign now that links my website (via Homestead)

I will give it a few weeks, if the website does not start appearing I will delete it.

Google is a complicated entity. They send their bots roaming the web and looking for links to sites and report back. It can take a long time for Google to organically find you. Google Ad words is a pay per click campaign and does not help get you indexed in the organic results of Google.

It will display your ad sometimes, but not always. This is how Adwords is designed.

The organic results require different marketing tactics and time. I can have a search engine optimization consultant give you a call during the week to discuss it if you like.

Thanks

I have searched for this "percussion lessons on Skype" The Homestead website (my website) does not come up. I have searched for exact phrases I use in and on my Homestead website, again the website does not come up. Actually my official website used to appear on page 4 sometimes 5 (On Google) After linking my official website via Google ad words, not only does my ad words ad appear my website now typically shows up at the top of the first page (on the general returns) In fact in Googles ad words tutorial it clearly states by having an ad words account your website will trend higher in the organic search returns...and they were right.

Do you have a link to this? I can't find any indication anywhere that says this. It would also tarnish them in a way, as they have long stated that organic results are not bought, so I am curious exactly what might have changed.

Ouch, Homestead it seems you have some very bad reviews (just searched for that) What are you doing to change the negative things I have just read about?
If I would have done my research (like I normally do) I would have not built a website using your services.

I am not sure what you are seeing, but we are undergoing major improvements right now to our email system and to our ecommerce platform. These migrations are very difficult and sometimes there are individuals who may lose a functionality that was important to them. Unfortunately, this is a fact of changing systems,

The majority will see far better services once migrated and we have great plans for many systems in 2014.

Yes I do, and I know there are some that have been having some problems due to migrations of the 2 platforms. We are trying to help these account owners. Unfortunately due to it's public nature and our desire to protect our customer's privacy, we are unable to provide support through Facebook, as we have no way to verify the identity of the poster.

I also understand their frustration at our hold times. Again, due to the migrations, we are currently experiencing higher than normal hold times. This should subside once the migrations are completed.

The first think you'll really want to do is register a domain name for your site. Then promote the site with that domain. There are many things you can do but you'll want to start with the steps above.
