Note: We want to provide a few common and useful snippets for your use, but our support department is not able to assist you with editing code. They can help you with code placement.

You can place the following code in the head section of your index page. You'll just need to edit the URL so it redirects to the home page.

Our Domain Manager screen does not have a forwarding option, but, you can accomplish an auto-forward by placing the code above in the head section of the index page.

If you wanted to, you could place the redirect code in the head section of the site.  You would just need to edit the code to include your domain name.

How to make my new domain name appear in URL window.

I have had several websites on Homestead for 13 years. For one of the sites I have been using the freebie domain name www.scvrs.homestead.com, but recently we purchased our own domain name that makes more sense www.santaclaritarose.org. I have the old one pointing to the new one so that's great. And I have been notifying our contacts of the name change so they can change their directories and bookmarks. However, what I would like is if somebody uses the old freebie URL that the new domain name appears in the URL window. Is that possible? If yes, how do I do that? For now, I don't want to just drop the old homestead domain because we enjoy a good following and hits from Google that I wouldn't want to lose.

Redirct homestead domain.

How do I redirect/point my homestead domain away from the homestead site I have built (which I want to delete), to another domain and website (not held by homestead)?
i.e. I would like www.sydneychildpsychology.com (domain held by homestead) to re-direct to www.roweandassociates.com.au

You will need to follow these instructions to add HTML to the index page, as I don't believe that Wix allows you to point more than 1 domain to their sites.

Hello,

You can use the method described in the guide above to redirect the URL to the page you are referring to.

Problem is, using the above method, the webpage content loads then redirects.  An additional problem with doing it as suggested is that there is an additional hop in the flow of traffic which will ultimately slow down the desired forward function. This is not an acceptable solution.  I would like to forward the DOMAIN, not the website.  I do understand that you just resell Tucows domains which is likely the cause for this function getting overlooked or dropped entirely.  Please incorporate a way for your system to allow users to forward the domain.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled how do I do 301 Redirect page per page?.

I have a new domain and need to redirect page A (hosted on homestead) to new page A on new domain. To retain the SEO, 301 redirect is recommended.

I have issue finding how to 301 redirect.

Thanks
