Hi,

Here are some instructions on how to add a sound / music / audio file:

  1. Click Websites Manager in the left navigation menu. Then, click Edit Site.

  2. Click on Insert in the top toolbar and mouse-over the YouTube Video element. Then, select Audio Player.

  3. In the Browse window:

  • Click on Upload from my computer to find the audio file on your computer
  • Browse your file manager if you have already uploaded it.

Note: The sound file extensions that can be used withing the software are:

  • With the audio file uploaded you can then drag the element to where you would like it displayed on your webpage. You can also use the Audio Player Settings on the right for additional options such as:

    • Play Automatically

    • Repeat Continuously

    • Hide Sound Player

    Hope that helps!

This is because the browser is trying to handle the link and play the file it's self. They customer will be able to download the mp3 is uploaded as shown in the guide, and you right click the file and click 'save as'.

Why do my audio links AUTOMATICALLY play when I open a page on my site? I did NOT chose that as an option.

It sounds like you may have still been using our older media players and browsing with Chrome. I no longer see any of our players on the site, nor do I hear any automatically play.

The new audio/video players should not do this. You would add them by clicking on Insert, then hove the mouse over YouTube and select the desired player.

When I published my site a few years ago I was using Sitebuilder. To keep users from being able to copy music files to their computers the files open in a separate page (per Homestead Helpdesk suggestion). Now that I am using Sitebuilder Plus is there a way to list multiple song files that can be played but not downloaded permanently to the user's PC?

You can add the audio to play on your page without a download link from the article above.

Don't think this answered my question...when you insert the files are they downloadable?  I want users to be able to listen but not save the file to their PC.  Also is there a way to post multiple files on one page but not multiple music players? It looks horrible to have 11-12 music players on one page.

They will be able to listen and will not have a way to download it. With our built in audio player, you can only have one song per music player. You might be able to achieve what you are talking about with 3rd party HTML code.
I have different mp3 audio files on each page and they are working properly from a pc, but there is no sound on mobile devices. Any help???

Do you have a mobile site with DudaMobile or the same site as your desktop is your mobile site? The desktop version of your site is not mobile optimized and may have issues with certain elements on mobile phones.

You can try using HTML 5 audio players instead, and see if this will fix the issue. The article below will provide how to do this.

I'm trying to add multiple audio files to my site on one page for public viewing but they all play at the same time. Is there any way to fix this? Plus they play automatically with out hitting play. The box for this in the set up is unchecked.

How can I add a short audio file to my Home Page so that the audio plays automatically when that page is opened? By 'automatically' I mean just that. I don't mean "Click here to play audio." You open the page . . . the audio file plays - one time. Thanks very much.

    David1911,
You can always find 3rd party code and embed via HTML to your website if articles before did not assist with adding audio to your page.
