John you might take a look at Page Speed Insights from Google. Don't panic when you get the analysis because some of the things listed we have no control over as they happen server side and we don't have access. Just use it as a guide not a bible.
You might also want to take a look the Website Design Guide. Link is at the top of the left hand column.

Hi John,

Are you resizing images before you upload? If not, you could do that, or when in Sitebuilder, click on an image and on the right side hit the optimize button. This will resize the image to an appropriate size for the dimensions that you have set for that picture.

If you have a specific page on that site that is an issue, let us know and we'll take a look at it.
