Recently we have begun to get an outrageous amount of traffic from Russia (over the last two weeks it has consistently jumped to its current level of about 35% of our daily traffic). This is skewing our analytics and I'm assuming is probably an indicator of a security risk on some level? Primarily it has just become annoying. I was wondering if there is a way through homestead/bigcommerce to simply block traffic from Russia? We do zero business in Russia and don't even ship there so we wouldn't be losing any potential customers really. If there is any way to do this please help as it seems like every day more Russian traffic is obliterating any useful analytics we could get! Thank you in advance!

Unfortunately you would be unable to block any visitors from your site, but you can filter them out of your Google Analytics. The majority of this traffic is just robots that go out and crawl numerous websites, and is not a risk for your website. The article below will show you how to filter them out so it doesn't skew your data.

you can also set what countries you want to show up in for organic search on Google, Bing and Yahoo via Webmaster Tools for both.

If you can see what the source is for the robot you can visit that site/company and remove your domain from the crawl. many of them share information, so if you do major one it will likely take you off all of them.
