I deleted a domain a few days ago but just received an email from Homestead [hostmaster@hs-support.homestead-inc.com via opensrs.org] with the title 'WHOIS Data Confirmation...'.
Dear Customer,

ICANN, the organization responsible for the stability of the Internet, requires that each domain name registrant be given the opportunity to correct any inaccurate contact data (WHOIS data) associated with a domain name registration. Our records for your domain are as follows:
The info for this domain is still tied to me according to the email but the site itself is gone. Is there something I'm missing? The registration expiration date is confusing as it makes it look like it will be in my name until March 30, 2018... ??

Registrar Registration Expiration Date: 2018-03-30T16:56:07Z

Actually, it will be in your name for longer than that. Domains are registered for a minimum of 1 year at a time. Once the expiration date passes, there is a process for deletion during which the domain will still be in your name. You need not do anything during this process, but it goes through 3 stages that can take anywhere from 45-75 days before the domain is actually deleted and made available for registration.

Thank you for the clarification. As long as it's clear I deleted this domain and won't be charged the additional fees per month I'm happy.

No problem. You have no additional domain fee on the account. You do have privacy attached to your 1 domain. That domain is included in your hosting package, but the privacy is an additional $1/month
