I want to put a message over a photo in a transparent box so the photo shows through. Is there any way to do this?

Haven't tried it myself, but you should be able to change the background of a shape/and MAYBE a text box in the advance controls.  Think it is under style where you change the colors and opacity.  You can also control the layering there (like bring to front)  Should that be working for you, I suggest putting the photo and the text into a CONTAINER (found under Elements tools) so they stay together especially in mobile view.  The container box will initially be green.  You can change that under the same "advanced" controls. Hope that helps you.

Hello Diana,

Sitebuilder plus, unfortunately does not have the option to adjust the elements opacity or transparency. This will need to be created outside the editor and uploaded as an image. There are many free online photo editors to accomplish this, or you can consider moving to WebsiteBuilder which does have this feature.

Upload the image using the lunapic ap, https://www10.lunapic.com/editor/?action=save > Once you've edited your image you'll be able to add text using Draw > Text tool. You can create text directly on the image or you can create the text on a blank page, crop and add it, make it transparent and so on. A great program that will provide you with valuable tools to make your website look great.
