I want to start using the new homestead web builder so I can have a responsive website for one that I already built. I am have been using Duda for my mobile needs, but would like to stop and just use Homestead. My website it up and running, and I don't want to create a new one. Thanks for the help.

I just did this recently. There is not way to transfer the data, you have to create a new one. But don't despair it didn't take long and gave me an opportunity to review the content I had on my old website. The new one is looking awesome and I'e had so many of my audience comment on it. It is very user friendly and even though I was initially annoyed at having to do it all again, I actually enjoyed doing it. You can keep your old website live while you make your new one.

Create a new website. Give it a name...eg Nancy1 (your old website might be www.nancy.com). Your new website will read as Nancy1.homestead.com in your website manager while you build it. Choose a template in WebBuilder. You can now work on this new website while your old one is live. I copied and pasted a lot of my text from my old website into the new one.
Once you have your new website ready to go live, publish it. Then go to the domain name in your Domains Manager and find the site Nancy1.homestead.com. Click on "change site association" and choose your old domain name (www.nancy.com). Your new website will now appear as your original website name www.nancy.com.Your OLD site will now appear in your Domain Manager as www.nancy.homestead.com. You can then delete it under EDIT SITE in Websites Manager. Keep in mind once deleted the old website plus all its data will no longer be available. This is how I remember doing it. I am sure admin will correct anything I may have incorrectly remembered. Good luck!I'm sure you will love the drop down menu option.

Marsha, I couldn't have answered better myself. That is exactly the process.

Nancy8518 if you need any help or clarification, let me know. I'll be happy to help. To get started, just go under "Websites Manager" in your Homestead account and click "Add New Website"

Hope you have as much fun as I did. Keep in mind when you can't work out how to do something click on MORE or ADVANCED.

Also, one tip that I have heard echoed by many Website Builder users, make sure to go into the mobile version of the builder often and edit that as well, because it will be much easier to do that, than to build it all and then edit the mobile. (There are 2 icons at the top of the builder, one for the desktop site, one for mobile. Just switch back and forth)

HOw long do we have before the old software goes away? I seriously don't have time to build a new one...I've had it for 18 years!
