I want to make changes to my website but I don't have time now so I want to temporarily take it down so no one can see it. How do I do that?

Hi Sara:

If you want to make you website temporarily not visible on the internet, just go to your home page and save it to "index1" then go back to home page "index" delete the page. When you want your website visible on the internet just go back to the "index1" page save it as "index" then delete "index1" and you are back in business.

I saved my home page to index1, but not sure how to delete the index page.  When I put Home(index) in View Page, there is no option to delete.  Thanks.

Hello Sara5248,

An easier way would be to just unpublish your site. You do this by going into the File Manager, selecting your index page, and clicking unpublish.

When I do this, the 'unpublish' is not available.  Yet, my status is !publish.  I want to take the whole site down.  It is still up. Not sure what I am doing wrong?

Thanks

Hello Sara,

I could see that the site was still up when everything was unpublished. This was an error that I was able to resolve by re-publishing the website and un-publishing again. Your site is down until you choose to publish it again.
