Hello,

You can create a new site in WebsiteBuilder with the instructions here. https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/how-do-i-create-a-new-site

This is of little help. I've finally (after 2 hours) gotten through the design choice part. I need info on how to rename pages for public view (menu shows one name and browser header shows another), how to work with photo gallery (why are the photos so small?), and other details I've not yet encountered. It's taken me about 5 hours just to set up the basic 3 pages with some text and an incomplete photo gallery. Do we really want to get rid of Site Builder?

For more understanding on how to use the new software you can review the support articles on the community website and view video tutorials on specif topics. https://www.youtube.com/user/homesteadwebsites

Image gallery images usually show as a smaller thumbnail and is click on to enlarge the image to the original size. You can scale the image gallery by dragging the white squares that outline the gallery to scale the size. If you have a specific question how to do something I can do my best to instruct you on how to complete that.

new problem: I have domain names boyntonbarber.com and aandrbarbershop.com, both of which were pointed to a Sitebuilder website. I've rebuilt the site in Websitebuilder and am trying to point boyntonbarber.com to the new site boyntonbarber.homesteadcloud.com. Since Websitebuilder doesn't allow pointing 2 domains to one site, I was then going to redirect the aandr domain to boyntonbarber.com. I wanted to test the SSL option, so first pointed the domain aandrbarbershop.com to the site. The SSL worked great! Trouble came when I tried to change the pointing so boyntonbarber.com would be pointed to the website. Now, I'm getting the 404 error on both. Help!

Hello,

To resolve this, you just need to resolve the 404 error on your boyntonbarber.com website. Here are the instructions:

https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/fixing-the-website-builder-404-error

Basically, the domain just isn't fully associated to that website. Those instructions will resolve that.

That worked ... thanks.

Always one more problem: I tried the Activate SSL on domain BoyntonBarber.com. When I got down to "click NEXT", it said "www.homestead.com says. DNS changes made are incorrect.Certificate can't be provisioned." I had tried this earlier on aandrbarbershop.com and it worked fine. I've tried this now several times with boyntonbarber.com and keep getting that error.

Can you post a screenshot of the DNS you input so I can make sure it is correct?

DNS1 shows the DNS set to "Our Servers", which Enom directed when I set the A record. DNS2 shows the A record.

Hello,

You will also want to point the www record to the same ip address as the @ record. Make sure the record type it is set to A(address).

I give up. This all started with the goal of making BoyntonBarber.com secure. I've tried all combinations of settings, but the only thing that worked was to redirect to the website and set DNS to their servers. Unless you have a better idea, my suggestion is that we go back to the start to get BoyntonBarber.com pointing to BoyntonBarber.homesteadcloud.com. I've set the DNS to Homestead, so if you could go disassociate and repoint (or whatever it is that you do to correct this), I'd appreciate it. Once we get the pointing working correctly, I'll then try again with the SSL Activation. When I did it a week ago with aandrbarbershop.com as a test, it worked fine. Not sure what went wrong since then.

Wait! I just tried in and BoyntonBarber.com appears to be properly pointed, so ignore my previous comment. Please take a look and, if it looks alright, I guess I'll try the SSL Activation again?

Im sorry, I am unable to access BoyntonBarber.com. Do you see it coming up with the domain or the site url?

It comes up with BoyntonBarber.com. And Homestead shows it pointing to the correct website. I also went to Enom and double-checked - the DNS are set to the ns1.mdnsservice.com, ns2 and ns3 for Homestead. All looks ok from here. Try it again .. maybe press f5?

Still nothing, but I did double check the name servers and everything shows good. It may have propagated in your area a bit quicker. You should be clear to complete the ssl process now.

HELP! Went through the SSL directions very slowly. I have a written record of all the steps I went through, but I think too long to put in this forum. Do you have an email? Or I could type it into a page on the website. Ultimate problem seems to be that in Enom, we set the servers in the section labelled DNS Server Settings. To set an A Record, however, we have to go to their section Host Records, which also includes redirect, frame, etc. Changing anything in Host Records brings up the error saying "no effect unless DNS set to our servers." When I click NEXT back in the SSL process, I get error "DNS Changes Incorrect. Certificate Can't Be Processed." I get that message for either setting of DNS. Despite that message, with the DNS set to Homestead's, website looks fine ... but still not secure. Ideas?

Since the name servers are pointing to Homestead, this change will now be done from the DNS  settings in your Homestead account. I went ahead and made the change and activated the SSL for you. Your site will show secured shortly.

PS - When I did the SSL thing with aandrbarbershop.com as a test a week or so ago, all appeared to work correctly. I set the A, then set the DNS to Enom. It showed domain name with padlock. Not sure how that worked. Maybe I didn't look close enough.

No worries, I think it might have caused confusion because aandrbarbershop.com is pointed to enoms name servers so the A record would be pointed from there. However, BoyntonBarber.com  is pointing to Homesteads name servers so the A record would be changed on Homesteads end. It is all set though, glad we were able to figure it out.

Yay! Workiing! I notice that under Advanced DNS Settings for BoyntonBarber.com, first line is @ BoyntonBarber.com and the magic IP address. Is that something that I could do on the next one without having to bother you with it? So, would I click Activate SSL, then add that line in the Advanced DNS Settings, then republish, and that's it?

That is correct. You can do the next one on your own, just click activate SSL to be given the ip and add that under the advanced DNS settings for the @ and www records.
