I received an email stating that my domain was about to expire but the email didnt come from Homestead.  I feel like it is some kind of spam but I want to be sure.  I cannot find any information on my account page that states when my domain is set to expire.  Am I charged monthly for this?

Did you purchase your domain name registration from Homestead?

No it was transferred to Homestead... or at least I assume it was because I purchased it through GoDaddy and had someone else handling my site for a while who I believe transferred it to Homestead (because it's no longer with GoDaddy).

Do a search on  https://whois.icann.org/en type in your domin name and it will show details about domain owner etc

If it is registered through your Homestead account, we will keep it renewed as long as your Homestead account is open.

yep www.simpkees.com is the URL ( Unique Resource Locator) or just simply your website address. I am not getting the site up either. Its shows as being in transfered into homestead if I am reading the data correctly. Will have to wait for Drew or one of the homestead guys t take a look

Unfortunately, your domain expired while the account was closed. We do not renew domains on closed accounts. When you reactivated, the domain was in redemption and still is. We can get it back for you, but unfortunately we must pay ICANN $80 to do so. This is a cost that would pass to you. If you wish to redeem the domain, let us know.

I can do it for you. I just need your approval. It can take up to 5 days before it fully redeems, but is usually quicker than that.

You are right to ask shannon as this type of scam is quite widespread and I have received a few myself. They offer to renew domain names with different countries extensions, which is not needed.
