How do I point my domain to my new website, but keep the old site intact with a different/sub-domain?

I have an existing Homestead website build with the old sitebuilder and have been building a new one with the new site building product. I have many pages on the old site that are really time intensive to rebuild. I'd like to publish my new site to my domain name, but l would like to keep the old one intact so I can link to some of my existing pages in the old site until I build the new ones.

I pay for my current domain name via a monthly fee to Homestead. I would like to do the same for a new subdomain.

What are the steps I need to take to attain this changeover as stated above?

Thank you.

I am making an assumption based on the site name, but to move the domain to the new site you change site association. There will be a little propagation time before the new site will come up. The old site would then be visible online using http://SWCoGen.homestead.com
If you wanted to register a new domain, go to websites manager and select the old site and then go to domains and Get a new domain.

Thank you very much.  My biggest concern was the old site just disappearing, but it sounds like it will stay intact. I think I understand this. If not, I'll be back. :)

The old site stays intact, unless you manually delete the site. As long as you don't do that, you are good to go.
