I'd like to know this too...I can't find anything through the online "product" where it says activate a FREE certificate.

I received an email today saying it was from Homestead and it gave step-by-step instructions on how to enable Https.  The problem is that it is saying to do it through another website and I already have an https web address, so I am worried that the email was a phishing scam.   Was it?  It says to go to http://cloudflare.com which ironically is not a secure site.

I got the letter too and I'm sceptical about it.  I can't find it on the Homestead website either.  Is it a scam?  You should call Homestead and ask the question.  Let us know please.

Hello everyone. The email that was sent out today was a legitimate email. For right now, it was letting you know how to get that HTTPS option using Cloudflare. This article that Debra posted above are the instructions to set that up.  Soon, this will be an option available through Homestead for customers using our newest Website Builder. We will let you know more about that when it launches.

When I tried adding my site http://whatdidyoubringme.homestead.com I was blocked by a red box at the bottom of the page with this text:

Please ensure you are providing the root domain and not any subdomains (e.g., example.com, not subdomain.example.com) (Code: 1116)

when I tried the site http://whatdidyoubringme.com I got as far as changing the nameservers which I do not understand but was blocked when a drop down menu did not contain any name I recognized for where my website is registered. I assume it is Homestead which was not on the list but I also have my order form on Hawk Host because it contains some code not supported by homestead. I also want to secure the site http://kathywildman.com

I have been online since 1994 and my site hasn't changed much over the years. I learned just enough to keep it going but I seem to have forgotton more than I've learned as it went thru gradual changes. I hate changes and learning how to do new things. It does not seem fair to be suddenly labeled as not secure after 24 years of not hurting anyone.

Hello Kathy Wildman

whatdidyoubringme.homestead.com is a site name and cannot be added through Cloudflare. whatdidyoubringme.com does not exist through your Homestead account. This is likely why you are having trouble. The only domain I can see on your account is kathywildman.com, and I can see the nameservers have not bee changed on that. I would focus on that domain and walk through the steps outlined in this article

In regard to your second comment, I do understand the frustration, but this is not Homestead labeling you as not secure. This is coming from Google. We are just giving you the information you need to be compliant with the rules set by bigger companies.
