I have been using Sitebuilder (not sitebuilder plus) for years). How do I convert to https?

If you are referring to the downloadable Sitebuilder program, sites being published from this builder cannot be secure. The software is too outdated to be compatible with the SSL. You would need to edit and publish your site from Sitebuilder Plus to be able to secure your site.

If you're one of the people (like myself) that prefers using the downloaded desktop sitebuilder here's the process I use.

First go to and set your site servers up as directed using Cloudflare.

I use desktop sitebuilder for 99% of what I do to my website(s) and this is how I edit what needs to be edited.

I use desktop sitebuilder to add/edit pages just as I always have. If the page just needs to be secured with https I'll add a period or number someplace and then remove it. Just do something, anything to require using the SAVE button.

Don't publish anything. Instead go into File Manager, highlight then UPLOAD the page or pages. This works on multiple pages using the control key on your keyboard.

Open up your website for editing using sitebuilder plus. At the same time open up your website using using your domain name in another browser window. The domain name in another window is just so you can see what it looks like when published using sitebuilder plus.

Using sitebuilder plus add a period or number again and then remove it. You may also have to move/adjust some things around a bit as desktop site builder and sitebuilder plus present/show things a little differently. But what shows in sitebuilder plus is a closer representation of what shows in different browsers, IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari. Be sure to hit the SAVE button for every page when done. Publish and check it out using your domain name. Any adjustments need to be maid using sitebuilder plus.

On new pages you may have to refresh the browser window before they show in sitebuilder plus after uploading from desktop sitebuilder.

This may not work for everybody, but it worked for me.
