How do I link an image to text?

I'm building a site using WebsiteBuilder. I want to hyperlink text so that an image pops up when the text is clicked (I could do this on SitebuilderPlus). I know how to create a link, but there isn't an option for an image. The closest thing is linking to a document. I tried that, but when I went into the preview pane to see if that worked, I got an Open Link message and I had to choose to open it in another window, which ended up being a download. Did this happen because I'm in the preview of the editing program and will it function properly later? Or is there a better way to link text to an image? Thank you.

Hello Julie,

You can use Element Behaviors to get this effect. You will need to add the text box and the image. Then, click on the text box, click More > Advanced > Settings. Toward the bottom, there will be a button that says "Add Behavior". You will need a behavior to:

Show > Other Element > The Image > Trigger > Mouse Click

Also, click on the image, and click More > Advanced > Size & Position > Turn off "Starts Visible"

You will still see the image in the builder, but if you do a Preview, you will not see it until you click on the text box.

Thank you for those instructions and I'm glad to know that process, but it's not actually what I'm looking for. I'd like to know how to highlight some text only (not a text box) and link an image to it. What I am trying to accomplish is to have a single text box with a list of numbers, and as users click on a number, an associated image pops up. I do this all of the time in SitebuilderPlus, but can't figure out how to do it in WebsiteBuilder. Thank you.

Here is one of my pages built with SiteBuilder that shows what I would like to accomplish. Thanks again.

Oh, I see. You would just need to create a page for that image, and link the text to that page. That is basically what the Sitebuilder site is doing, but it is linking to the storage on the file manager. Website Builder doesn't use a File Manager like the older builder used to, which is why it doesn't have that same ability to link to that image.

Thank you. Would another option be to convert the images to PDFs and link them as documents? If I were to do that, would they automatically open on another 'page' without me having to create more pages manually? Is there a limit to the number of pages? Thanks again.

You can certainly try that. If you are able to get a PDF file to display as just an image, I  don't see why it wouldn't work. You do not have a page limit.
