I am notified periodically that my email box is near full.  The last time I cleared my box to make room all my emails disappeared from my Laptop... this includes all past emails and sent emails.  I went thru living hell trying to recover those important emails.  I work from my laptop MAC mail and really don't need to have my box full on homestead but I don't want to lose my emails each time I clear the box to make room.  Any help would be welcomed

If your Mac is set up as an IMAP mail, then the mail is not on your laptop. The laptop is simply viewing what is on the server. If you delete from the server the laptop will no longer see it. The mail program might have an archive option that would allow you to archive mail to your local computer, or you might be able to create a new account as POP. POP will download the messages to your computer and keep a copy there.

Thank you Drew, I just chose to upgrade the size of the mailbox.  I have a number of people that access the same box for business reasons and it was just easier to leave it IMAP and allow open access.  Thanks for your feedback

That works well too. Have a great Thanksgiving.
