I'm switching my domain name to another host, but keeping my email account at homestead.  I need the mail exchange record (MX record) to configure the new host to connect with my external email account.

The best way to keep just email with Homestead is to keep the domain with us and switch to domain hosting. That is $14.99/year and includes 1 email. You then get the website pointing information from the new web host.

If they simply want to change the nameservers, then you can edit the DNS per this topic. https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/what-dns-records-are-needed-for-homestead-email

If you transfer the domain to a new company and want to point back for email, Homestead does not have a package for that. You would still need to have at least a domain hosting account.
