I have large photo galleries that take forever to load. I would like to only display the first 6 pictures from the gallery instead of all the pictures on the main page.

You'd need to create a 6 picture photo gallery.

You should be able to uncheck the pictures you don't want from the gallery in the advanced edit mode

Hello William2420

You would need to remove those other photos from the gallery for it to only display 6 images.
Alternatively, if you were able to rebuild your site in our newer builder, Website Builder, then
  1. You would not experience the same slowness issues you see on this current builder

    and

  2. You can set your image gallery to show 6 images at first, and give your customers the option to scroll through the rest of them.

Let me know if you have any questions about this.

Is the advanced edit mode in the newer website builder program and not the site builder maybe? I cant seem to find it. If I build a whole new website in the new program will I loose google ranking? I have heard changing that much, especially changing the http can change google links and affect my google ranking, is that true? If I were to make the switch how would I find the new program? thanks

Hello William2420

Yes the advanced options are only available in the newer builder. To use this, just create a new site. Websites Manager > Add New Website in your Homestead account.

You might see a hit to your google ranking, as that will happen when big changes happen to your site, but overall this would be an improvement to your site. I will be a responsive site, mobile friendly and soon we will be able to offer a free automatic SSLs on sites built on this platform.

If you want to talk to our team about SEO services to try to make this transition as seamless as possible when it comes to your Google ranking, I can have someone call you about this. You can chat with them and see if this is something that would work for and benefit your business. What is the best phone number and time to have someone call you?
