Hello,

I apologize, Homestead does not have the ability to apply an outside ssl certificate. If the site is built in WebsoiteBuilder I could help you apply the free ssl. For the sites built in Sitebuilder plus you can apply a ssl with the instructions in this article. https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/can-i-secure-my-homestead-website-with-https

Thanks for the quick reply.  We tried your instructions before - all we get is "domain is not verified".  How can we fix that?

It's sitebuilder plus.

Another thing - our DNS is with our Tech guys.  We don't want it moved to cloudflare.

THANKS for any help you can give me!

Understandable, but if you don't mind me asking, why would they not want to use Cloudflare? It is a reliable SSL certificate provider. Cloudflare is the only provider that we recommend as it uses name servers to apply an ssl. If you can find another external ssl provider that uses nameservers it would be possible to use that company.

If i HAVE to use cloudflare, how?  It keeps getting stuck on "Domain cant be verified as it doesn't exist on builder"?

I think you are attempting the WebsiteBuilder ssl if you see that error. Follow these instructions. https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/can-i-secure-my-homestead-website-with-https
