I have tried using the html instructions found on this site to add a zoomify map to my webpage but have had no success. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

Did you add the HTML code into a HTML snippet?

https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/how_do_i_add_a_widget_to_my_website-19z08i

What HTML code did they give you.

I did. I published it and there is just a black box on my page instead of the map. I've left it up to see if maybe it was just loading, but nothing ever comes up. I've tried on Safari, Firefox, and from a cell phone with the same result.

I took the html code from the webpage they have me a link to. I downloaded the zoomify html link which takes me to the map, then I got the html code from the page source.

There might be an issue with the code itself. What HTML code did they provide to you?

The following is the code I retrieved from the page source.

<HTML> <BODY BGCOLOR=#000000> <DIV ALIGN="CENTER"> <TABLE BGCOLOR=#999999 CELLPADDING=1 CELLSPACING=0 BORDER=0 WIDTH="600" ALIGN="CENTER"> <TR> <TD> <TABLE BGCOLOR=#000000 CELLPADDING=0 CELLSPACING=0 BORDER=0 WIDTH=100%> <TR> <TD> <OBJECT CLASSID="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" CODEBASE="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0" WIDTH="600" HEIGHT="800" ID="theMovie"> <PARAM NAME="FlashVars" VALUE="zoomifyImagePath=UALocal342_43x48_150131_5290&zoomifyNavigatorVisible=false"> <PARAM NAME="BGCOLOR" VALUE="#000000"> <PARAM NAME="MENU" VALUE="FALSE"> <PARAM NAME="SRC" VALUE="UALocal342_43x48_150131_5290/../zoomifyViewer.swf"> <EMBED FlashVars="zoomifyImagePath=UALocal342_43x48_150131_5290&zoomifyNavigatorVisible=false" SRC="UALocal342_43x48_150131_5290/../zoomifyViewer.swf" BGCOLOR="#000000" MENU="false" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" WIDTH="600" HEIGHT="800" NAME="theMovie"></EMBED> </OBJECT></TD> </TR> </TABLE> </TD> </TR> </TABLE> <TABLE BGCOLOR=#000000 CELLPADDING=1 CELLSPACING=0 BORDER=0 WIDTH="600" ALIGN="CENTER"> <TR> <TD align="Right"> <Font size="1" face="arial" color="#999999">Powered by <a href="http://www.zoomify.com/" target="_blank"><Font color="#999999">Zoomify</Font></a></Font> </TD> </TABLE> </DIV> </BODY> </HTML>

Nothing in the code looks 'broken' but I am also seeing the black screen. There is something wrong with the code though. Is this all they gave you?

What they gave me was a file that included one subfile with image properties and tilegroups, an html link (this takes me to the webpage that has the working zoomify map, and a zoomifyviewer.smf. I was given instructions (To install:
1) You will need to upload the contents of the zip file to your web server.
2) Then create a link on your webpage to the html file included to view the maps.). When I used the html address as a link I got nothing, so searched the homestead site and found the instructions for html snippet and was able to get the black box.

Okay, I think I can get this to work. Did you upload the zoomifyviewer.swf file? I'm not seeing the file in the file manager.

Yes, it's going to need everything set up exactly how the the zip file is set up. You can create folders in the file manager by clicking the 'New' icon at the top left hand corner. The folders would have to be named the same as what is in the zip file.

all of the folders and files have now been imported.

Once imported, the files still need to be published. I am doing this for you now from the file manager. It will take a few minutes to complete and then we can see what happens.

Thank you and William for all of the support. I am still very green when it comes to all of this.

I have everything published and it still shows the black screen. I will look at the code now to see if I can figure out why.

Can you have Zoomify take a look at the code and see if they see the problem? Maybe see if we can use an absolute path for file locations. I am not sure what is going on.

Hi Drew, I received a response from maps.com (who I received the zoomify file from) and they asked me to verify with you the following:

1)      The UALocal342_43x48_150131_5290 folder, zoomifyViewer.swf, and UALocal342_DoubleClickHereForZoomify.html are all in the same directory.

2)      UALocal342_DoubleClickHereForZoomify.html can be renamed, but the other files cannot.

3)      The browser has Adobe Flash plugin installed and enabled.

Thanks.

I managed to get it to work. It required modifying the HTML file to include the Zoomify folder in it's path. I added a button on the untitled page that links to the HTML file to show an example of it working. www.ua342.org/untitled.html

Thanks William! I was able to get the map working from a link on the documents page with the info from the untitled page. I really appreciate all of your help.
