TVland Heroes is my site for my short stories, but I can't link Word Documents from my PC to my web pages. What can I do?

Hello,

Do you run into any errors when attempting to add a link to the document? You can add text that links to the word documents by using the instructions in this article https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/websitebuilder-link-text. Highlight the desired text, image or element and click attach link. Select document then upload from your computer. If the file is invalid you can try converting it to another file type.

I'm getting the following message after I upload a file from my PC and try to link it to a title on my web page 'The editor is preventing you from opening a link to "https://storage.googleapis.com/wzukus..."
It then asks if I want it to open in a new window. Regardless whether I say yes or no it doesn't open the file, just downloads it! This is not what I want. I want people to click on a title and have the various chapters appear on screen to read. Am I being really stupid? I used Homestead many years ago for a different site and had no problem linking files!

Hello, To be able to view the file after clicking on it, you will need to convert the doc file to a pdf file. A doc file can only be downloaded with the way our builder works. I have tested this and it will work for you. You can Google to find a free doc to pdf converter.
