I'd like to have my store by part of my site navigation menu. I want one of the links open to my store within my website. I do not want it to open to a different window and I want to omit the "Stores. "

If you want your BigCommerce store not to display the stores. in front, we have to change the point to a Nameserver point, and update the Domain inside your BigCommerce account. If you are using email, you will also have to re-point the emails back via the DNS Settings inside the store

Thank you for the quick reply. I will have to do this once my site is set up as I don't want my current store to go offline.

Hi again. It says it takes 72 hours to fully change. Will my site be down for that long or does that mean the address bar will show the current URl (which is showing my bigcommerce cname)? Also, I have my domain pointing to my stores cname currently. Would I change that to the regualar domain? And last, how would I change the email back to homestead servers? Thanks so much!

You will see some downtime with the store, but changing the nameservers to BigCommerce is rather fast. To be safe, we would safe 24 hours but most likely would finish sooner. This would all change the CName information to be with BigCommerce, but you would not see the stores. at the beginning of the domain. Once the Nameservers are pointed to BigCommerce, we have to put in Homestead's MX records. I can post the MX records here if you would like

Thanks for the reply. So to clarify, my subdomain being pointed to my cname does not need to be changed. Once I change the nameservers my big coommerce store will go from http://store-okozsth.mybigcommerce.com/ to my regular domain name? and yes, please post mx record and instruction. Thanks !

Ok, so first I need to change the nameservers and then change the subdomain to my homestead site via "another site in this account"? I don't know if this is an issue, but I am working on a new site using sitebuilder and it is not published yet, so if I point the subdomain to that site, it will go to the store?

Here is what I am trying to do, I am changing the look of my website through sitebuilder and it is not published yet, I deleted the previous version. But in the mean time, I have my bigcommerce store running so people are redirected right to the store for now. I just want the store to say my website name and not the cname or "stores". When I have the new website up, I will change it so my store opens up right in the website, I should have it ready in a week or so. Maybe you can suggest the best way to do this? Thank you

Please disregard my last message, once the nameservers have been changed this would break the subdomain redirect anyways, so that won't be necessary. You will want to change the nameservers to BigCommerce's, then go to BigCommerce and edit Domain, type the domain name in, then submit. Please remember, if you change the nameservers, this will not load your Homestead-built website, only your BigCommerce store.

If you are needing to point your email back to Homesteads, that is when you would then edit the DNS to reconnect email.

so under domain names where it says to choose a domain, I will enter my website name minus the "stores" part? Also, is there a tutorial to reconnect mail?

Thanks!
