I was attempting to setup up my Microsoft Office 365 account.  In order for my account to work with Skype for Business and other features, Microsoft had me add my Homestead hosted domain (waynecfb.com) onto their account.  Microsoft had me update the DNS information on Homestead to include the DNS information for the Microsoft account.

They also had me redo my account settings in Outlook to change my account type from a POP account to a Microsoft Exchange account.  I only changed my email to an Exchange type, not the other emails in our Homestead account.

Now, none of the emails are sending/receiving any messages.

Over 5 hours on the phone with a Microsoft tech, and now everything is all screwed up!

The DNS changes Microsoft had you do moved your mail service to Microsoft. You can't have 2 mail hosts. All addresses need to be at Microsoft or at Homestead. The Internet believes your mail service is at MS and is routing all email there. You either need to create all your mail boxes with them, or we can reset the DNS to use Homestead mail, but you can't set up as an Exchange mail in that case.

That makes sense.  So, should I call Homestead Tech Support and have them transfer the DNS for my domain completely over to Microsoft?  I would still like to keep Homestead as my website host and use the web design service through Homestead.

It looks like they already are over to Microsoft. You would just need to create the new email boxes via Microsoft to be able to use the mail.

I talked to Homestead Tech Support.  They made a minor adjustment to the DNS settings, which allowed my email to route properly through Microsoft Exchange.  Thank you for your assistance!

No problem. They must have updated it before I looked. Glad everything is working.
