Went to log into webmail and keep getting a long load time and then a 404 not found error.

Hi Stephen4624,

What is the email address?  I was just able to log in to mail with no trouble.  Can you try a different browser?

Thanks

Drew

Seems to be up now, only lasted a few minutes.  Maybe some server glitch/maintenance??  Working now so I'm good.  Thanks for the quick reply though.

I just closed this and went back to my email.  The delete button works now but I received 6 or 7 emails while I was writing the above.  This kind of thing has happened before and I remember now that I thought on several occasions that the entire program appears to freeze when there are emails waiting to be delivered.  Sometimes a large batch of new emails will show up all at once even though the time stamps range over a wide range of time (sometimes even hours).  Before I wrote the message above I refreshed the email page several times, but no new emails showed up nor did the buttons work until I connected here.

Hi Jane9132 ,   I just double checked and we've had no recent  email outages or performance issues.  What you are describing sounds like it could be something related to your local network, ISP, or perhaps even your web browser. It sounds like something is causing the email screen to time-out.  Make sure you have a recent version of Java running on your computer and also be sure to test it with different web browsers and see if you can isolate it to a certain browser.

Another option would be to install and configure an email client such as Outlook or Thunderbird so that you don't have to go through the web client.

Thanks MIke.   I have been using Firefox as recommended.  I checked out Thunderbird (free) but PC Mag says it will not work with Exchange Servers.  Is Open Exchange and Exchange Server?

You can use Thunderbird with either the IMAP or POP configuration. IMAP would be recommended if you check your email on multiple devices. This way the email stays on the server.  If you configure it as POP, it downloads the email to a single device or computer.

Still seems to be having intermittent problems.  Currently, I cannot get my mail app to sync with the imap servers.

What type of device and which email client are you using?

Homestead is having email problems. I was timed out all morning while working in email. Have not been able to access any of my email accounts for several hours. ONLINE tech chat is worthless, asked me if I was sure my internet was working! Every attempt is the connection spinner then a message that the homestead server is too slow or not working. Or a message like emailing.mg@homestead server is not working. And I did just get a message that email was down and homestead was working on it.

Hi Dee Dee0596,

Are you still having an issue?  I see no indication that the servers were in any way failing.

Drew
