As of this morning all of homestead seems to be working fine and the glitches sorted!!!.
I was not able like many of you to access the desktop builder for many weeks, but as of this morning all is back to normal, I really hope this is not temporary. I have republished my site all lines breaks are good, it is fast and reliable I have logged out many times  and then logged back in with no problems and no freezes!!!!! :-)

You can not believe how happy I am I can finally get all my work done as well as my clients, if your builder is all ok please let me know sot hat we can all determine that the desktop is back and working and we can all now get back to our dedicated work as we are used to with the great desktop builder.

I have 36 in my account. all was fine all day long, then closed down my computer and when turned it back on prob is there again.
I can after about 20 times log into the site builder, but when I go to publish, it wont.
When I am trying to log in,  in the bottom left it say online, but soon as I get logged in (after many attempts) the online changes to offline, and a pop up comes saying connect to internet, I am now lost and this is now on the brink of closing my business down.

I still cannot even get into my system! Our site is for our local animal shelter and we have been down for several days which means our precious homeless pets are not getting adopted all because of the EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE. Whoever made the decision to do whatever they are doing at this time of year needs to be fired or worse!

Hi All,
I have now tried logging out and back in about 30 times, and publishing pages, all seems ok, the Desktop seems to be working fine.
I mentioned before I am based in Cyprus, so with the time difference your solutions and maybe coming very soon, I pray that they do, as I understand the frustration of everyone (I estimate that I have lost in the regions of $3500) tried many thing last night and followed a post previously put on the forum.
Nothing for me was working but what i did and maybe worth a try, as it fixed my problem straight away.
I had tried the below with no succees, but then I changed ,y password and did all the below again a Voila all perfect!!!
Wishing you all the best of luck
PLEASE SEE BELOW THIS WORKED FOR ME (and hope it does for everyone else)

  • Log into homestead.com and change your password (this is think is one of the main things you need to do) have no idea why but once i had done that all was fine.
  • Do a full uninstall of the desktop builder (Windows - Control Panel - Uninstall Program - Homestead)
  • Run CC Cleaner or a similar program to completely erase any left over components that the the builder may have placed within you hard drive
  • If you are running window 8 / 8.1 which most people are download the following desktop builder ZIP file:
  • http://supportdownloads.homestead.com/sitebuilderdotnet.zip if the the  M.visual package does not automatically install (though it should) during set-up. You can download it via the links below
    32-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downlo...
    64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downlo...
  • Your desktop icon will then been your desktop, launch the program and log in, making sure you use the new password.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE
I still need to say that this is terrible from homestead to be doing this at this time of year when we are all trying to make a living with our web sites, and no one has been of any help, the best I heard was use Site Builder Plus, and if like me this online editor id horrible and not up to task of most webmaster.

ARRRRGHHH, It was working all day. I closed down my computer, when I went to restart my comp, the PROBLEM IS THERE AGAIN ----   Wanting to smash everything at moment, I was nearly done with my updates  + client updates, I actually called them to say all their work would be finished tonight, and decided to have a lunch break, came back and WHAM problem is back!!! Now I have the extremely embarrassing task of having to let me clients know that their sites will NOT be update as I had promised them - OH GOD, I can not give another excuse as they no longer seem credible.
Going to try and re-installer ONCE AGAIN. This is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!
I Should of kept my Desktop publisher opened and never ever ever closed it.

Once you get into it...DON'T get out.  If you do...you are screwed.  Happened to me 2 weeks ago.  Just keep it open and do your work.

Doing a full uninstall, then install all afresh, hope it works, if it does I will never close the program again.
So pissed that I had it working and now nothing again.

I have not been able to get into site builder desktop to make updates since November 20.  ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!    My clients will never recoup what Homestead is costing them. I have several who are almost insisting I switch their site to somewhere more reliable.  I don't blame them....they have kids to support and Christmas sales are critical to their income.

I forgot to ask....can anyone access their domains and have the the ability to unlock, transfer, point them?  If you can't access domains, you have very little chance of transferring everything to another server.  I have not been able to pull up a list of my domains since the beginning.  Every time I call customer service it's 30 to 60 minutes on hold......
