Ho do I transfer an expired domain?

Need to transfer expired domain: I need to transfer ownership of a domain that I had used on Homestead, however, it's not showing up in my domains list, and shows the nameservers: NS1.EXPIRED.HOMESTEAD.COM when I search it on ICANN? How do I unlock it so it can be transferred?

It actually is not expired. When you delete a domain from the account the system updates the nameservers to the expired servers, but it is actually not due to expire until January. I have unlocked it and sent the transfer authorization code to the email on the domain. You will need that to transfer the domain.

Thank you so much. I also need to set up an admin email for the new owner. Is this something you can do for me since I can't access it?  The new admin email should be: chrislefrois@gmail.com

I can change this, but it will trigger a verification requirement. You and they should both receive an email asking you to verify the change in email. You must do this or the domain will be suspended. Do you want me to update it now?

I haven't received an email about verifying the change. Is that going to cause a problem?

They may get it first at chrislefrois@gmail.com. Have them  check too. Sometimes it takes a bit.
