A few weeks ago, I switched from the old website to the new one built with the new website builder. I've noticed recently that the Google rankings for the website has dramatically fallen compared to the ranking the old website had. Is it just a be-patient, wait-and-see thing or would I have to submit the new website like I did originally and have it verified by Google again? (I did insert the Google verification code in the new website.) The domain has not changed, just the layout and contents of the website. The website is www.victoriahaysales.com

I don't think there is a definitive answer as to how the new builder is going to affect rankings so I guess it's a wait and see. I would go ahead and resubmit it. If you have a Google Webmaster account you can use the Fetch option that also shows you how Google views the site.

Susan is right, though there is one thing that is sure and a bit unfortunate. Anytime you do a major redesign of the site and site content Google will drop your ranking. I do not know why this happens, but it does. The improved coding and SEO options with Websitebuilder should help it recover "quickly" Unfortunately again, quick is not a term to use freely with search engines.
Just make sure you fill out the SEO portions of the pages and add description to the images in galleries and things like that and you should get a good recovery and hopefully surpass the old rankings.

Drew is spot on, but it's strange because a couple of the sites I've redone for clients the visitor numbers have improved and I believe David also said his improved. One of the things that Google, et al look at are updates. I guess it tells them the site is active rather than just sitting around gathering moss. Now, completely redoing the site could be a whole different ball game especially if you change the Meta tags throughout the site.
I really believe it all has to do with what phase the moon is in when you publish a site....

I did change some of the meta tags, so that might be it but I'm with you, Susan, its probably not the right moon phase yet! Thanks for all the input!

Also if you log in to Google, via webmaster tools, it gives you an overview of your website. My site was showing 603 404 errors due to the crawler not finding pages that I have deleted. You need to tell Google directly to not crawl these dead pages any longer...

Google says your mobile page is taking too long to load. Mobile sites that take too long to load are downgraded in search and Google advises you to eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content.
I am wondering if this is a Homestead fix, because I am having this problem on sites I am testing and I encourage others to test their sites as well.

Chip, I did test it as well with Google tools and noticed the same thing. I am thinking it is something with Homestead and not our websites. Perhaps someone from Homestead can confirm this and maybe put in a fix.

we separated our websites from pointing to the same place and google has given us an error message. that we do not measure up?

We are investigating things on the Google side. Twiggy, I see 1 domain on a site and 4 domains on another site. As I recall that is the same as it has been. Am I wrong about that?
