Just received a complaint that the embedded map on our "Location" page show a map of SF, California, not Scottsdale AZ.

Saw there were numerous complaints regarding this going back about a month now. What gives? How come no fix? Your suggestion of going to Google Maps in a web browser and copying HTML script is not a fix.

Follow these steps:
  1. Go to maps.google.com on the web.
  2. Type your organization's address into the search box, and then hit [Enter]. Google Maps will display a pin on a map indicating the location.
  3. Select the sprocket in the lower right corner, then choose Share or embed map (Figure A). ...
  4. Login to edit your website. Use you Homestead Page Editor > More > HTML > add the html and position the map where you'd like it.

I did this and now have a correct map showing on our website. But this does not correct the basic problem in the website editor that has apparently been going on for several weeks now. Additionally, I would imagine embedding the HTML code and correctly sizing the box could be challenging for some subscribers who thought they were paying for a WYSWYG editor.

I for one am not paying Homestead to practice my HTML skills. Programming bugs do pop up on almost all programs, but the vendor should stay on top of these and issue updates. It seems that this particular problem has been out there for about 4 weeks now and it affects numerous subscribers. Not good.

You are using SB+, Sitebuilder Plus? If so, Google generates the html code. You copy and paste the code to your html box in your website editor's HTML box by selecting Insert > More > HTML.

Hello,

I do apologize for the trouble with the maps. We have a ticket to get this resolved. Unfortunately, it does take time to fix issues like this. It is not a switch we can turn back on, it is coding and programming that has to be looked at and fixed and that takes time.
We are not offering the HTML as a permanent solution, but until we are able to get this issue resolved, it is the way you can still have a functional map on your website. You can choose the size in Google maps before copying the code. You do not need any HTML expertise to do this.
