I installed cloudflare per homestead's suggestion because my site was marked not secure by Google - I got an email saying I have a mixed content error - I have no clue how to find it - can you help?

I also got the mixed contnet error for my huge website. every page has links to other pages on the website. I was able to get the nameservers replaced for the domain www.kathywildman.com Do I just open each page and put an s after every http and then reload the page?

I do not want any of these warning messages to come up when someone visits my site or even the not secure .

Yes you would need to update any links that are not secure for the site to show fully secure.

this is the cloudfare page about the problem
https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200170476-How-do-I-fix-the-SSL-Mixed-Content-Error-...

I tried their solution on this page
http://whatdidyoubringme.homestead.com/files/StoryBehindTheSale.html and I removed any http: and just left //and the rest Then I reloaded the page but it still says Not Secure. I double checked the view source text and a contol F page search did not reveal any http left. Is there still mixed content on that page? Do I have to remove http from every page on the site to get rid of the Not Secure label of shame? Thank you for any help, Kathy

Hello Kim9492

This is usually caused by an outdated element or HTML embedded in your site. I would take a look and make sure all HTML is https.

These "outdated elements" were only outdated a few days ago when chrome made their change...

the oldest version is  http://whatdidyoubringme.homestead.com
is also can get there with http://whatdidyoubringme.com/ I think I have learned that these are subdomains and my real domain that I used for the ssl registration is www.KathyWildman.com  I went thru the four plant t-shirt pages and all the invertebrate t-shirt pages and removed all http: .eaving the //rest of the address. I then uploaded the http: free pages but they still say not secure. It will take a long time to wash all my pages of http: but I do not want to be shamed by or turn customers away because of  the "not secure" label. I just want to know it is worth the time to do this.

The .homestead.com site name cannot be secured, it has been outdated for a few years and we cannot integrate HTTPS capability. whatdidyoubringme.com is not registered with Homestead or pointed to us, so I can only see that the nameservers aren't changed to Cloudflare. Other than that, you would need to contact the company you have that domain through.

kathywildman.com is pointing to Cloudflare nameservers, so it is probably DNS that isn't correct. If you can post a screenshot of the DNS page in the Cloudflare account, I will let you know what needs to be changed.

What does DNS mean?

I have been with Homestead since it was a free site in the mid 90's and it has changed owners several times. All pages are with Homestead except the order form  which is on Hawk Host because it has code that is not supported by Homestead.
