We recognize that the timing of our data center migration is not the best for our customers. However, this was something that had to be completed within a set amount of time. This upgrade is to better our services, and unfortunately an unintentional side effect of this process is customers experiencing issues with logging into their account to make website changes.

Although we estimate that the remainder of this migration may take until the end of the month to be complete, we are putting all resources into getting this resolved sooner. We expect to see a large improvement after today's maintenance is performed.

Based on current progress, we expected to be completely running from the new data center by Tuesday, December 23rd. This assumes no unexpected external factors occur. Once the copying of all the data has completed we should see a jump in performance. There will likely be some periods of slowness as the DNS services are still served from the old data center. DNS services will begin to be moved to the new center as soon as possible. We expect this to be done around the end of the month. Once all services are in the new data center there should be a significant improvement in overall performance.

Some customers are reporting that there Sitebuilder connections have returned and they are able to edit and publish their sites. We expect this trend to continue through the end of the data move and then more with the DNS change.

During the last few days, some accounts will be unable to manage email boxes in their account. Mail will function as normal, but you may not be able to add, remove or edit mailbox details and passwords. Some of the older Simplestores may also experience some disruption.  Lastly, some accounts will show broken images, when using a rectangle element.

We are truly sorry for the inconvenience and are working as quickly as possible to finish the last steps of this upgrade.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Continued data migration 12/12/2014.

We are sorry to announce that due to yesterday's outage in the old data center, and 3rd party routing outages in the last week, the data migration window has been extended by 1 week. We are working to get all accounts moved as quickly as possible. As data completes the transfer, more resources can be allocated to fully restoring and enhancing performance. The engineers believe optimization will continue through the end of the month. Some accounts may continue to see disruption/slowness throughout the month.

On or before Friday 12/19 a new update will be posted with progress.  It is not possible to provide a firm date and time for completion as there are too many external variables that can affect the time frame.

We do sincerely apologize for the delay.
