OK Buddy first off this is my opinion and certainly open to debate from other members who may like different styles.

Index Page

Lets start with Text and background, Black is a good background to show off the colours of the vehicles in the photographs, however its one of the hardest on the eye and the text needs to be sympathetic and red text just doesnt work on a black backgroeund.  If Doggedstreet Garage, LLC. is the same as the sign over your garage in the same style script then OK but if not try and recreate it so people can identify with the Logo.Company Name. I would maybe choose a slightly brighter logo, and move it down a tad off the top border. See how better "Custom AutoBody, Restoration & Preservation Service" looks on the page becuase its lighter and thinner and looks sharper

Again, the Email button is rather dark.  As for the main text I think its too "fancy" and for me, and hard to read... Ariel is a clear script and for a little fancy have a look at Georgia.

Not sure if the staggered look of the photographs was intentional but I think same size and alignment looks better ( as I mentioned, my opinion)

AT the bottom of the page it goes on too far into a white area.? If you delete the grey box and thengrab the bottom of the black rectangle and drag it up to just under the last line of text the page will end there. Now if you have used a template that could alter the rectangle on all your pages. Just by way of an option, go to page settings and choose a black background instead of the grey, I think a single colour across the screen may look better, ( if not just change background back to grey) Finalyy for the index page giving a general location of the Company and the area you operate.. even if its " we have helped customers from across the Country"

Photo Gallery

As mentioned Red on Black just dont so it.White by the way is too stark as well so try off white to very light grey or other lighter colours. Again the black rectangle is a tad too long, just make you think there should be more there. I would suggest some more photos in the gallery for two reasons. Your a motor preservation specialist and from your photogrpahs a very very good one so here is where you show your skills and art, its what customers will want to see.. I am a restoration nut and think the work you do is just superb, so the second reason would be I would love to see more. Email me in yello works for me. Good page well done

News

Aw cmon....I am 64 and have pretty reasonable eyesight but stood no chance reading "You will soon be able to find me on the social network Google" and only just managed to read the rest, which overlaps the left hand page edge.. With Text boxes check out the padding command on the right and play with the settings.

Here is my thoughts ( that could be way off the mark)although we have quite a few "youngsters, with money, into rebuilding classic cars I would think the vast majority will be the middle to senior demographic with more disposable income and a passion to own a car from their youth. If that is the case, make sure your customers can read it :)

Overall, like your obvious artistic style, its the attention to detail that separates the amateur restorer from the professional and you, without doubt are a master.. YOU do fabulous work, the quality of the website deserves nothing less, its your shop window... As a website it has all the data a propective customer would need, just needs a little refinement.

As I stated at the start, this is purely my opinion but I love seeing old cars restored and I love the work that you do and the skills you bring to the projects... I want inline customers to see it too and to make contact if they have an old Shelby Mustang or Route 66 or Barracuda sitting dusty and unloved in a garage.. ( well if anyone does have an old Shelby Mustang going cheap let me know, Yeah I know,,,,in my dreams)

All the very best to you and the Company, too many old classics are vanishing and need restoring so they can see seen where they are meant to be... on the road not only museums. Good Luck

Absolutely, Dennis, Photos need to be resized and in the best format ( Jpg, jpeg) is considered the best although I sometimes use GIF files if I want certain parts of the image transparent. As an example have a look at the RAF crest on this page, you can see through the crest to the clouds behind. http://huas.homestead.com/  this website is a favour for some freinds, their web host closed down and they lost their website so I am rebuilding it for them (bit by bit) and hosting it on my Homestead account. They have LOTS of photographs so I need to make sure they are optimised. I use  google page insights https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/  to check on how fast my pages load, its a good excercise but just dont get too hung up on all the data... just to check how its loading and find any errant time problems... BUT just remember to use it as a guide only. If your a few nano seconds out.... its not a big issue honestly.

The xml sitemap needs to go into the site root folder see pic

As for the HTML text showing up on the page I am guessing its a Heading <h1> type. THis type of code needs to be an integral part of a webpage's HTML code. and cannot be added as an extra. Just for fun, right click on your published webpage and choose View source... there you will see all the HTML,CSS and Java code that makes up your website... We cannot edit that but its interesting to see.

Well Dennis you have gone from strength to strength with the design, the text is larger and much easier to read which is a great plus, you havent moved away from the triple panes which I am pleased, its a really good use of backgrounds and one I like a lot. Everything is "tightened" up and is easy to navigate and read.I only found two things for you to look at. First is, on my laptop the pages are aligned left rather than center so there is a grey margin down the right and nothing on the left. Look in page settings for center on page for whole website, it should be ticked. the only other thing is the work in progress page. the URL shows /blank... so again in page settings you just need to give the page a name.. keep it short something like projects or rebuilds

You've come a long way in a very short space if time with design and website building, better than most which must be because of your practiced eye for detail ..now the test.. What I do, once I think Ive finished with a website, before I take it to a customer, is to field test the website. I get family and friends to have a look at the website and encourage feedback. I deliberately do not play any more with the website, in fact I dont even view it for a few days and get on with something different, not web related. Usually a trip to the shed to build something for the home or grandaughter, currenlty in progress a very pink glittery jewelry box for christmas. This is so my mind can clear so, when I go back to view the website "live", I have a fresh perspective.

Bottom line buddy its a done deal. I would imagine you could always find "something" extra to do with a restoration but you eventualy accept the jobs done.. websites are the same.  Adding extra data, or changing the odd photo here and there keeps the website fresh and new, something search engines rate quite highly. Websites that have not been updated for months will rank low.

Looks like another sucessful project completed for Dogged Street Garage :)

whoa.. Dennis, its gone to the right now.. also, have you changed the size of your pages.?. I have to scroll left/right to see the page and some html has appeared top left of one page?.. Dont panic, we have all gone down that path lol OK the two settings you shoukd check are in the pics. First, check in Page settings, background links and footer and make sure "set for all pages" is selected and then check your Page width.. 990 in my mind is near the limit in my mind.

Once they are correct, move down to Advanced settings and check Center alighn this page... THis should change all the pages at the same time.

See how that goes buddy. let me know

Hi Trina, happy to critique the website but as I always mention when I do these things my comments are based purely on my opinion viewing the website as a prospective customer and judging what I like and offer alternatives based on my web building experience.

Index page

Beautiful colour background but red text is barely readable on a dark background The “like G+ “needs to be at the bottom of the page along with the guest book, and celebrating 10 years rosette. Let the viewer have a read before they vote. The blue border around the photograph is well done and in keeping with the blue theme but the bevelled bar doesn't really compliment the page at all. The the contact button could have a lighter text and is overlapped by the twitter button

The header is a wonderful piece of work, love the camera lenses..the back light is perfect.. Chosen font is artistic and in keeping with the Company theme.

Navigation bar look very professional, except( and this is my opinion) the links appear to be italic but when I hover over it the text changes to normal... this makes the nav bar move around a little, something I find distracting.

Founder page (url says about us.. to be honest About Us conveys a Company, Founder sounds like a history lesson or a one man band)

Is excellent, all I could offer is that the glass award is lovely just text hard to read against the dark blue, not sure of the type of graphic it is but if you could lighten the text to make it more readable it would be just perfect.

Movies page (url says News or reviews )

Perfect to me, like the back lit photos, “watch trailer” banner perfectly in keeping with the script text.. Sign up Facebook hard to see but their buttons usually are, you tube graphic is neat ( not seen that style before but works very well. ( will bear that style in mind for future builds thank you for the inspiration)

Services page

Again a good page, good graphics.. I don't think the banner of films is needed as they are better displayed on the films page and the footer is about 6 inches after the bottom of the page so I would shorten the page and bring the footer up to just below the contact form

Pruducts page ( url says clients.)

Again great page, but the last paragraph has some overlap of text with feature logo and Facebook logo

Customer reviews

Nav bar says "customer reviews" as does the URL but the page heading is testimonials. I would prefer nav and page said testimonials or change the heading on the page to customer reviews, whichever you think. Navigation, url page name and page heading should ( in my opinion) match.. apart from the a very good page

Upcoming auditions

Great page but the text is white... ( not the same as the rest of the website) looks good on the blue background so flicked back and forth and just cannot choose which I prefer white or light blue text so will leave that with you. Footer is overlapped by the last entry, Not sure how you managed that as it shouldn't happen. The footer is automatically inserted at the bottom of a page... strange. Cant give you a solution?... made a decision......... Light blue text gets my vote..

Contact Us page.

Navigation text overlaps the back bar... just drag the bar a bit more to the right. Your photo on top of the contact box looks good BUT, there have been a few little issues with these boxes working flawlessly and I am not sure if the photo overlapping the box could cause problems.. I would test it Get a few friends to send it in from different computers and browsers. If they all arrive OK then there shouldn't be a problem... Just align the Sat sun closed as they are not level.

Overall I was very impressed with the whole website, it showcases what you do and what you do is very professional. The graphics, information and artistic presentation was pretty near perfect and I salute the builder. I would suspect a very experienced person behind this great website, job well done.
