Homestead did correctly identify the problem, the View Cart button is being embedded in an iframe and that's why it vanishes when you click it. Basically, the frame it is in is the size of the button and so basically you're seeing the cart through a tiny keyhole rather than seeing it appear on your page as intended.

Unfortunately they misidentified where that iframe code is coming from. It's not part of our buttons at all, it's an aspect of their site design software. I'm really surprised that they'd send you to us to ask for some different code, because if they are the ones adding the iframes to your site there is literally no different code we can give you that will change what they are doing. The best we can do is give you code that bypasses the issue entirely by opening our cart in a new window rather than the usual in-page overlay display.

This particular cart code works just fine in your old desk top version of Site Builder...and you can't get it to work in your new build! Something is very wrong!

I am sorry Glenda. I am not sure what information you got from us, but this is correct. In the new builder, HTML boxes are currently run in iframes. This has been reported to the developers to investigate, but I have no information on if/when changes will be made in this regard.

I have not tested this idea, but it looks like the add to cart buttons work because they open a new browser window. It may be possible for you to add code to have the view cart open in a new browser window, but I do not know for sure. Maybe that is what our agent was trying to say. I can't think of anything other than that to try at this time.

You are correct.  The Add to Cart buttons do open up a new browser window and so does the View Cart.  But customers are used to having a pop-up and some of my customers wouldn't have a clue to look for a new browser window to find their cart details.
And yesterday, one of your phone support agents told me to ask both my cart software and email/newsletter software companies to provide code that wasn't in an IFrame.  Those folks answering the tech phone obviously don't know that it is Homestead where the problem is stemming from, not the html code provided by the 3rd party companies.
Since all this software works just fine in your old desk version...it is really sad that your developers can figure out how to make the code work in the new platform.
I've been a loyal Homestead customer for at least 10 years.  I've waited patiently for the ability to have a drop-down menu...only not to have my 2 main elements function - my newsletter sign-up form and my shopping cart.

I am sorry, it is not a problem we run into often. This system was by design not by ability. I am not sure why it was done that way, and we have made the enhancement request, but as I said, I do not know if/when they will choose to change it at this time. I will see if I can get more information.

I would appreciate it if you are able to get any more information.  When I spoke with a second phone support person this morning, he said to send the comments from E-junkie along to you in hopes that it would assist your developers.  But it already sounds like they know about the situation and are not willing to put any more resources into changing the current status quo.

They are aware of how the system is designed. They are also aware of the request to change it. I just do not know where in the list it is. The request is still active, so it has not been rejected. I'll let you know if I find out more on this.
