Facebook like counter has reset to '0'

I am using SiteBuilder Plus. I have recently made some changes (some major, some minor) to pages on my website. On the pages I have updated, the Facebook like counter has reset to '0'.

Is this normal?
Is there a way I can have the previous Facebook like count return?

That's how it always happened to me. Probably because you're publishing the counter, which, of course, is a fresh copy, so will start at 0.

We are beginning to advise that you start using the Facebook code that can be generated from your Facebook account in the developers section. It appears as though Facebook may be discontinuing APIs as a result of recent events. This will affect all built in elements if they do this. I am looking for more info.
