Extremely important domain information

Please read through this topic carefully, as the instructions must be followed in full to reactivate your domain.

If your website and email are not working, please check your domain status. This is done using a Whois Lookup. Enter your domain name and go through the CAPTCHA challenge, then click continue. Look for the domain status. If you see clientHold, then your domain has probably been suspended.



When a domain is registered you agree to maintain current contact information on the domain. ICANN, the governing body of domains, instituted a new policy in 2016; any updates will be required to be verified by the domain owner within 15 days, or the domain will be suspended until successful verification is completed.

If the email address is changed, then you MUST receive and verify the change to the new email address before the hold is lifted.
It is critical for everyone that you double check the contact information on your domains, especially the email address. After you update any domain information, look for the verification email and follow the instructions provided. If you are able to log in to your Homestead account, this is a very simple process.

If your domain is suspended, you will need to log into your Homestead account, proceed to the Domain tab, and update the contact information to trigger a new verification email. If you update the email address, you will have to verify that email address. NEVER use an email address associated with the domain that is already suspended. Please note in addition to updating the email address, a postal code and a state/province are also required.

This is not a Homestead policy, this also applies to all top level domains(TLDs). To ensure your website and email stays active, you can log into your account and update the domain information today if necessary.

1) Log into your account at http://www.homestead.com. Click on the domains tab, find the domain in question, and click the Edit Contact Info.



2) All the information in this picture is REQUIRED, except phone ext, fax number, and Address Line 2. If you live in a country that doesn't use the postal code, go to http://www.google.com and search for: postal code (insert your address) You must have a valid postal code. Your email address must be one you are currently able to log in to. Click Save



3) Keep an eye on your email. Usually within an hour you will receive an email asking you to verify the information There is a link on the email. You will be taken to a web page. You must click on the verify button. Once done, usually the domain will be up and running within the hour, but in some cases it can take up to 48 hours for all services to resume.
If you cannot log in to the account, please continue reading.

If you do not have access to the Homestead account, then you will need to send an email to compliance@homesteadsupport.com. To prove ownership, you will need to send a color copy of a government issued ID, the best is a driver's license that has the same address as the account. Additional information may also be required if you updated the physical address or your license does not match the address. In each case you will need to prove the old and new information. You can do this by sending a copy of an old utility bill or other document. Compliance will respond to you in 24-48 hours. If the information you provide is not sufficient, then they will request something else.

Additional note: ICANN periodically sends emails to the domain owner. If your email address is out of date then you will not receive this email. If it bounces back to ICANN, your 15 days has begun. They will send several more emails to you, but you will not receive them at the defunct address. Your domain will be suspended, so please check the information on your domain and keep it current at all times.

I am also having this issue with my website www.franslittlegreenhouse.com - this site was working fine about a week ago but I've been out of my office and realized yesterday that it's no longer showing up online. My client told me that it's been that way about a week. Please help!

Can you clarify the domain name? The only domain I see on your account is pointing so it's not registered with Homestead. You'll have to contact the domain host, to unlock the domain and get your transfer code, and then initiate the transfer at GoDaddy.

Nothing needed to be updated but I changed my security question anyway and "Saved". So how long does it take for that verification email to be sent? I've been waiting all morning and still nothing in my inbox. I'm dead in the water with no "instructions to follow" until you guys send me my email... Please do so ASAP as my website's still down.

Hi Mike, I still have not received your verification email to my inbox @ decodiva828@yahoo.com. I did pull down Homestead's letter from the yellow menu bar and clicked on something but I still cannot access Gentrysreststopmaggievalley.com online. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you...

You still need to change the email address on the Domain manager screen. Log into your account and click the links shown in Drew's post above. You'll see that you have a different email address on the domain name. Once you update this address and save it, you could get the email any moment (usually not more than about 15 minutes). Then just follow the steps in the email and in about 20 minutes your domain will be working.

I've been trying to get this website up for days, like most of the other folks on this forum.... I have gone to homestead.com as directed...have gone to "Domains" as directed to check my email address but nowhere can I find the subtitles that allow me to verify my email. The page that loads is shown below:

Hi Mike, thanks so much for your quick responses to everybody! My bad... I was calling about a site that I manage, not my own personal one and that one had a different registrar and hosting company. Once that was determined, I was able to call them, they emailed the verification letter to the CORRECT email address and I was able to verify everything. Both of my sites are back up and running fine but perhaps in order to save everybody some grief it should be mentioned more plainly about that small piece of info. People like me who are not very good at this sort of thing may not know intuitively who to call for help. Thanx though; my particular situation has been resolved.

Your domains seem to be fine, but you don't have any websites in your account. Your domains are pointing to Hostgator. You'll want to follow up with Hostgator if that's where the sites are hosted.

Bill5447- I am just another Webmaster for my domain, and I hope your not implying I'm taking your money. If we were, I certainly would know for sure. We're probably were, or still are, experiencing similar problems, which it appears that many of us are seeing. Unfortunately, we never knew we were down until a couple of days ago also.

Suggest you keep on actively trying to get the right person who will magically identify and resolve your problem in minutes.. A live phone conversation is probably the quickest way to resolve your problem, if you can get through to someone. Keep cool - it's really frustrating - but don't give up.

Harry not at all suggesting you are ripping me off, just stating Homestead is set up for direct withdrawl. I am also stating I have called numerous times and all I get is a recording and no replies. The number I call and have called for years now is 1-800-710-1998.

In all the years I have been with you with all of my sites, this type of difficulty has not occurred previously.

Bill - I didn't really think you thought I was ripping you off. Just trying to help, as I know how frustrating it gets. Wish I had a phone # to give you. I am webmaster for my domain, but my club secretary maintains for it for me..

Some how I tried to log into Homestead on line, and they requested name & password. I think I said I forgot my name and when I followed their lead and eventually got to the right format they were looking for, they asked me for my PW.

I didn't have a clue, but by this time I was talking to a live person. He told me that the PW was referred to as a Pin number, and was made up of 5 numbers. He sent it to my Email address, and when I got that inserted we were talking live. He had me log into an account known as(join.me), and apparently once into that he could control things, and shortly later I could log onto my domain account, Not sure if that's the final resolution, but it sure was a confidence builder, Wish you the best.

ok I did get one of these emails but it went to my spam folder.
I have been trying to update my contact info but everytime I try I get a server error message and cannot.

Hello,

After you have updated the contact email for the domain from the "Domains" page of your account, a new verification email will be sent the the address you set as the admin contact email. Click the link in the email and verify the contact info. Once you have done so, the domain will begin to function properly 20-30 minutes later.

I have two domain names for my website. www.deliveranceunlimited.com and www.deliveranceunlimitedinternational...

The www.deliveranceunlimited.com web address is not coming up and it wont even come up in a google search. It has never done that before. Please help, that is the web address that everyone uses.
