Excessive SPAM has returned the past few days. I've been receiving upwards of 75-100 per day, now most with inappropriate content. This had peaked in August and finally slowed down only to return with a vengeance the past few days. Please advise.

Hi Sarah8298, I just received confirmation that there have been no adjustments made to the incoming spam filter in the last few days. In fact it has been several weeks. However if you have not deleted the spam emails yet and they are still in your Hmail account, we can take a look at them and extract information from the email headers. If they are still in your account and you don't mind sharing your login credentials to your email we can take a look. (please do not post them here).

I'll send you a personal email if you want us to look into your account.

Over the next couple months, we'll be making some more changes, which will make the incoming filter more restrictive.

Mike

Thank you for your reply. Yes, please send me a personal email and I'll give you my login credentials.

I just checked on Zimbra and there are only 18 junk emails showing. My normal sources for email (Outlook on my desktop and my iPhone) have been flooded with junk the past several days, usually 20 messages at a clip.

Hi, Mike - I've only been checking my email through Homestead the past few days to leave everything on your servers. I am still getting SPAM, lots with inappropriate content, though it is less than a few days ago.

Please advise if there is anything I can do with filters or settings on my end.

Thank you.

Unfortunately the only thing you can really do is mark them as spam. You could also go to preferences and make a filter that will remove messages with a particular word or words in the body or subject.

We are beginning a migration to a new email platform shortly. Once that has completed we will be able to activate the new spam filter on incoming mail. Currently we are using a temporary filter and it is at it's highest setting that we can use and not block legitimate emails as well.

Let us know if you need anything.

Thanks

Drew

Thank you, I'll try to set up a filter to help. I'm hopeful that the number of messages will slow down over the next few days as well.

I am having the same problem. I use outlook as well as checking email on my phone. I have to go through a ton of junk mail, making it hard to see what is real mail! I also had a problem last week of not receiving a couple of emails and a few I sent never were delivered. This is making me crazy as I have been very patient. Please help

It is starting to slow down a lot from the level it was a few days ago, but I am still getting weird SPAM. I set a filter or two to weed out some, but they are still arriving. jackie0575, have you set any filters?

The other problem I've noticed is that I cannot send mail either via Outlook or Zimbra. I've no problem receiving it and have been able to send on my iPhone, but I believe the issue is still with the Homestead servers.

I tried to send a test email yesterday and it didn't work. I submitted the error report and am looking for resolution to that issue as well.

Please resolve this as soon as possible. I'm a very small business and I rely on email for the majority of my client communications.

^ Update: I just successfully sent an email via Zimbra. Thank you!

However, the SPAM issue remains. Please advise. Thank you.

There are a bunch of changes coming. We will be migrating off of Zimbra onto a new and improved platform very soon.

Additionally, the spam filter we are using on outgoing messages is very strong. Once we get moved to the new email platform, we will be applying that filter to the incoming servers as well. Unfortunately that means you may still see more spam than you would like for a little while longer.

Thanks

I really hope we get them sometime too, but Microsoft Exchange servers are pretty pricey at this point. If you look around the web, most folks charge between $6 and $15 per month per email box. We will see what happens in the future though. Feel free to submit it as an idea here the community and our developers will begin to assess how many +1s we get. You will get one from me for sure.

According to the link Mike F. Provided it states this is something that can be done on the email providers end. "A mailserver can however connect to Apple's push notification service so that'd be a thing for you to ask your e-mail provider e-ail server software provider to implement. This is how the push in iCloud works. It's IMAP with push notification enabled in the back end.

Would this be something that could happen?

Not at this time, but you might check back with us in a few months after we transition all of our email accounts to the new platform.

You are welcome and I hope it won't be long either. There is a huge amount of data to be moved, but it begins tomorrow, so you will be notified when we are about to start yours, and then again when we complete it.

The level of spam is simply amazing! There is no way one can block every domain that is sending the spam, either. It makes it nearly impossible to check mail on a mobile device because you have to wade through hundreds of junk emails.

When can we have a fix??

Hi Tracy5612, over the coming weeks, all of our email accounts are transferring over to a new system which will have a more strict, and complex filter. This will drastically improve the amount of spam you have been receiving. We are sending email notifications to everyone notifying them before hand, and also at the time your account is converted.

Mike
