This might seem like a daft question, but are Homestead hosted websites covered by Homestead's privacy policy and cookie policy, or do we have to add our own?

Although I have created my own privacy policy for all of my websites, I wasn't sure about the cookie law, or whether Homestead collects details from visitors to my websites.

The EU are cracking down on websites that don't comply with their cookie law and owners who don't comply risk enforcement action from regulators, which can result in a hefty fine.

Many thanks, as always, for your help!

Websites hosted under Homestead may or may not be covered under Homestead’s Privacy Policy. Unfortunately Homestead is not in a position to determine whether you need to create your own Privacy/Cookie policy although many of our customers do create their own. As you undoubtedly know, these questions may be better directed towards legal counsel.

We recommend looking through our Privacy policy which outlines our privacy policy and cookie policy regarding our Users and their visitors. You may do so by going here https://www.homestead.com/legal/legal...

Homestead does not review or collect data about visitors to your website proactively. Instead we are a passive conduit and would only analyze this data should we be required to by law as seen in section 11 of the link above.
